Annabelle looked down at her stomach and rubbed her hand over it gently, sighing softly to herself. Damon hadn't stopped looking at her since she had sat down and she wished that he would just say something. Upon glancing up at him, he started to speak instantly, asking an in-flood of questions, the main one being, "How did this happen?" All that Annabelle could do was explain that she didn't know, that vampires aren't supposed to be able to procreate. But clearly, that was a lie, because after so long of being together, her and Damon were actually having a baby. However, that didn't make it any different that what had happened between them and Katherine had happened. Annabelle needed time to process all of the information.

That was when Annabelle decided that her and Damon needed to go on a break. It wasn't a permanent break up and it certainly wasn't like that episode of FRIENDS where Rachel and Ross were on a break so Ross slept with a different woman. It was the kind of break where Annabelle went away for a while and thought about her options. She said that she needed at least a couple of weeks to decide what to do. Should she stay in Mystic Falls where Katherine wanted to kill her? Should she keep the baby? These were all things that she needed to consider before her and Damon could go back to playing happy families again.

Upon leaving Mystic Falls for a while, she had bought a new apartment to stay in for a while. She didn't find it necessary to stay in hotels when she could simply just buy a home or aparment for herself. It was at least a couple of weeks before she heard from Damon, that was all the time that she had asked for and it drove her crazy just being away from him for that long.

The new apartment was a plain apartment. It wasn't too big, and it wasn't too small. The main theme throughout was white, clearly because that was the current in thing to do to try and sell properties, but Annabelle didn'r care. She just wanted to be out of the Salvatore Boarding house, and for that she was thankful. Annabelle had just managed to get all of her furniture in with the help of compelling some guys from the streets that looked quite strong. As she looked around, it felt empty, unlike her own. This of course was because she had told Damon that she needed a break, to think things over after what had happened between him and Katherine. It was probably a good thing that Annabelle was here though, somewhere far from the Boarding house, where only Stefan and Damon knew where she was - as Katherine had decided that she wanted to kill the youngest original.

Annabelle flopped herself down on the sofa and rubbed her hand over her enlarged stomach, she sighed softly. She had had to buy new clothes seeing how the baby bump was testing her current clothes to the limit. Annabelle looked up to the fireplace in front of her, she hadn't bothered with a television, she didn't see the point. Annabelle was a bookworm and a musician. All she needed was her books and her music and she'd be happy. Well, almost happy. There was still that void in her heart that consisted of one thing and one thing only - Damon. Damon was her lover, and he had been since 1864, the night where she had met him by the lake after he had been turned by Katherine... The evil psycho bitch. Annabelle glanced up, hearing a buzzing sound. It must have been her phone. She had left it on vibrate as she had decided that she wanted to be left alone so she just let it go through the process of ringing.

Upon picking up the phone, she saw that it was Damon. Annabelle furrowed her eyebrows slightly in frustration. It didn't matter how much she loved him, and even though Damon had only done what he did because he loved her - it still hurt her, knowing that what he aid could have been true. He did love Katherine before he loved Annabelle, she was his first. It was her that had turned him. Annabelle was just the replacement for her. But that didn't explain the past almost two centries, surely he would have dumped her the moment he could have if she was just a rebound.

Annabelle pressed the putton that allowed her to listen to the voicemail that had been left on her phone, she set the phone down on the table and listened carefully; "Annabelle. I know that you said you needed a break but I miss you and I want to see you. I love you Annabelle and I want to be with you throughout this pregnancy. There is nothing that I wouldn't do, just to be with you again. Annabelle, you're my one and only. My soulmate. I hope that you use this time on a break wisely, because I want to be with you. For you and for our little baby. I'm coming to visit you later on today, I just need to see your face and hear your voice. Even if it isn't how it used to be." Annabelle sighed after listening to the message. She looked up and decided that she would do some more things to the apartment to make it feel a little more homey before Damon got here.

Damon wondered around the streets of New York, Annabelle had gotten her apartment here so that she was far away from Mystic Falls. Far away from the drama that Mystic Falls entailed. And most importantly, far away from Katherine. Damon understood that she needed time, but it hurt him that she even thought that he didn't love her anymore and that was the reason that he was coming to see her. Damon needed Annabelle to understand that he loves her with all of his heart, that this baby was clearly fate and that they should be together.

He walked up to the apartment and knocked on the door, waiting patiently as he tapped his foot on the cement step softly. It was an old industrial building that had recently been turned into flash, modern flats. He waited to be buzzed in and then walked inside. It was like a hotel, the lobby, the doorman and the elevators. Damon remembered what floor she was on - 15, so he went up to the elevator and pressed the number fifteen. No way was he going to climb up all of the stairs when he had the easy access of an elevator.

Damon saw her lying on the sofa, fast asleep. He walked over to her and gently rans his fingertips along the side of her cheek, smiling softly to himself. It had been a long time since he had touched her this way. A long time since the last time that he was able to see her peaceful, sleeping body. Annabelle, to him, was the defintiion of perfection. There was no one else in the world who could even compare to her astounding beauty. At the touch on her skin, Annabelle's eyes fluttered open slowly and she smiled softly, glad to see him. Although it was her that initiated the break in the first place, she missed him like crazy.

As soon as her eyes were awake fully, she leant up and crashed her lips to his. The kiss was needy and passionate, but she didn't care. Annabelle had missed the way that his lips felt on her, the soft saltiness that mixed with the taste of bourbon and blood. The way that he smelt of expensive cologne and... Home. Damon was her home. They were both breathless when they pulled back for air, however they did not pull apart. Instead Damon pressed his forehead to her own and whispered, "I missed you so much Annabelle. God I love you."

"I love you too," she mumbled back, pressing her head back on his and closing her eyes tightly.

And that was how they spent the night, in each other's embrace. Constantly saying how much they loved each other and how much they had missed each other. Annabelle and Damon spent the night talking about how they were going to bring the baby up, and how they were going to name it Roman if it were a boy, and Caitlin if it were a girl. And you musn't forget the sly kisses and little make out sessions that of course made their way in there. The thing is with Annabelle and Damon, they're an unbreakable couple. Even the psycho bitch of Mystic Falls couldn't break them if she tried.
