Chapter One:

I sat up hurriedly as I tried to erase the memory and ease the pain in my heart that has haunted me since that grave day.

I don't even know why we had gone to Chicago in the first place, my parents never told me.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door and I quickly whipped the tears away.

"Come in." I announced as my best friend, Riley, walks in.

"You woke me up again..." She said carefully, very well knowing I don't like to talk about what happened in Chicago.

However, she understands because she survived it too, most of us did. My friends, I mean.

"That bad?" I moaned dully as I got out of my bed and stretched.

"Ya, sorry I'll leave you to to get dressed. Meet you downstairs with the others." She said as she gestured to the clothes she had brought me.

'Others? . . . Ohhhh! haha Will and Kyle must be here...' I thought to myself.

I nodded to her and she left my room, closing the door silently behind her.

After a minute of looking around, I got up, grabbed the clothes, and went my bedroom's bathroom.

When I came out fully dressed I had on a black laced Converse tank top, black over top that says 'Kiss me under the moon and stars' with the moon and stars on it, stormy grey shorts, black combat boots, and my necklace that had a black Autobot insignia charm. As I looked at myself in the mirror I saw my scar peak out from the laces of my tank top.

I paused when I saw the scar but shrugged it off and headed downstairs to meet up with the others and have some breakfast.

"Hey, good morning sleeping beauty!" I heard a familiar voice call.

William Lennox, by far one of the greatest guys I know, not to mention a great dad. Lennox got to me shortly after I was rescued by the mystery 'Bot. It bugs me that I still don't know his name but Will says its top secret, like always.

"Hello, Will." I smiled as I embraced him. "Is Kyle with you?" I asked as we pulled away from each other.

"Of course and look what we brought." He laughed as Kyle came rushing into the room with a bunch of Dunkin Doughnuts bags.

"Ohh that looks good, thanks Will, I haven't had a good breakfast in a while." I murmured as I took 2 strawberry frosted doughnuts and a extra whip cream hot chocolate.

"We have to meet up with everyone in a few minutes, you wanna come?" Kyle asks me as he stuffs his face with a chocolate munchkin.

I laugh at him and playfully swatted his head. "'Course, kid. I wanted to see the others anyways." I accepted with a goofy grin on my face, mocking him.

"Great! Come on, Will!" He shouted as he pulled his adoptive father behind him.

"See you out in the car I guess?" Will stammered as he let the 15 year old drag him, Riley following them out.

"Yep be out in a sec!" I promised as I rushed to brush my hair and teeth.

- 15 minutes later -

We arrived at the park in Boston, where the others already were.

The others were survivors too; there was Ryder Jackson, Zeph Williams, Ethan Schoff, Kyle Lennox, Riley Breeze, and myself.

"Ryder!" I shouted excitedly as my adoptive brother embraced me. It's been a while since we have been together and I could tell he missed me as much as I missed him.

"Sky, glad to see you can stand again." He said jokingly.

The last time we saw each other I was just getting out of the hospital and couldn't really stand properly.

"Well, we're here for breakfast so come and get it!" Will calls out to us from the benches.

I sat down with the others and grabbed my doughnuts and drink again. I sat next to Ryder and Riley and watched them as they bickered over who gets the last Boston cream doughnut.

"Hey Skylar, Riley, are you ok with watching out for the others while I take a trip back to base? I just got another call about this political bull shit." Will grumbled as we snickered at him.

"Ya, they don't cause too much trouble." I accepted.

"For us that is!" Riley added, laughing as Will shot a confused yet amused look at us.

He shook his head and began walking towards his truck. As he left he waved goodbye to us and told us to go on without him if he doesn't call us in 20 minutes.
