Three Years Later.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BE-
I pressed the button for my alarm to stop going off. I grabbed my phone to check what time it was. 4:00 a.m. I groaned out loud. Great I have to get ready for work. Guess where I work at!
At my own company? No.
As an assistant to an important company? No.
Anything remotely important and relating to my degree? No.
So where do I work you may ask?
I work at Starbucks. I'm the manager there. I also open on mornings. I organize schedules, do paperwork, order the necessities, blah blah. It's so easy to be honest. I know I could have a better job, but I didn't know that getting a job after graduating was so hard.
Four years! FOUR! I worked my butt off at school to maintain good grades and to be able to graduate in four years. Plus I'm still in debt.
I mean working at Starbucks isn't really bad, it's just that there is more to me than being a manager at a cafe. Although I don't really have luck.
I should really get up and get ready. I groaned and got up from comfy bed. My lovely comfy bed. I did all the morning necessities and headed towards my car. I still have my car from my college years. I love it with all my heart. I've also kept it in good condition. Thanks to my brother of course. He loves cars and basically knows everything about them. He's now in college studying mechanical engineering at UCLA. That smart cookie.
He also got a full scholarship because of everything he applied to. I should've listened to my teachers when they said to apply to all the scholarship applications I could find. If I would've, I wouldn't be in debt right now.
I arrived at work and decided to not run away from it. Yet.
I opened the door and walked in. Not even a minute later, my co-worker Natalie came in to open with me.
"Morning Bella" she said. Well tried to. She mashed up all the words together because she looked very tired.
I smiled at her sympathetically, "Morning Hun. Don't look so sad. We leave in like 8 hours. After that you can sleep all you want."
"8 HOURS! That's a lot Bella. Even though I love working with you, you give me too much hours."
I raised my eyebrow at that. "So what I'm hearing is that you want to work less hours? I could deduct it if you want."
She suddenly looked more awake. "No! No! That's not what I meant! I need them." She smiled looking down.
"I know hun. That's why I give them to you. I was just messing with you." I grinned at her. "Besides you're one of the hardest workers I know."
"Thanks Bella. You're an amazing manager." To that my smile faltered. I should be appreciative to the job I have, but I just can't. I think about the time I spent in class, in my dorm studying, stressing out over finals, and I get upset. I could be doing much better.
"Thank you Nat. I appreciate that. Now come on let's get everything set up."
Mornings are very busy here. Well how surprising is that. It is Starbucks and we are located in Downtown San Diego. A lot of businesses here. A lot of coffee. We set everything up and had it ready. By the time we were about to open, five more co-workers came in to start the day. Yeah we need seven workers in order to keep up with the amount of people coming in.
