Horus POV
That mortal must be utterly bored just sitting the temple like I do, though she does keep herself busy with reading the walls. Something I didn't know she could do and she read other books quite often as well. Still she was just as trapped here as I was. Sighing as I sat in the pool and tried to think of a way to speed up the process one of the worshippers whom I did trust and allow back inside my temple came and laid my robes out for me.
"Does something bother you my lord?" Ka asks as he looks over at me.
"Trying to speed up the process of breaking this curse, making that mortal woman out there fall in love with me, without leaving the temple." I say with a sigh.
"You mean the one who reads the walls and walks around demanding you be nice and call her by her name?"
"That would be the one Ka, do you know of any other mortal who is stuck in the temple just as I am?"
"No I do not my lord, perhaps you could dine with her? I see she often doesn't try to escape though so that is a good thing." Ka said as I stand up and dress myself in my usual clothes.
"Dine with her? That is too simple Ka, I want to show her who I really am without my title or powers." I tell him as I begin to pace.
"You mean as you are now? You have no used your powers on her or for her therefore she can see who you are my lord." Ka says making a point.
"I defended her life, that counts for something-" I start before I get distracted looking out my window and seeing Dasia walk past in a new gown Hathor had sent for her allowing her to stay in the temple longer than other mortals.
Sitting down on the steps I can't seem to stop watching her, I watch as her white linen dress flows in the wind as well as blowing her hair but she pays no mind as she looks out into the vast piles of sand that surround the temple. I begin to wonder if she is thinking about her freedom...and how much she misses it. Standing I go to the outside of my temple and begin to think if there is a way to either speed up her love for me or get her out of here before she begins to truly hate me.
"Why are you out here on your own? I would think you want at least some of the company that you have?" Dasia's voice calls out to me.
Turning around I just nod at her as she makes her way to me then sits down beside me. Thinking back to the story she told me of that woman and the beast I wonder how he got the woman to falls for him in only a matter of days and Dasia has been her close to two weeks now and I still thought she wasn't fond of me at all.
"Is something bothering you?" she asks as she looks at me concerned.
"Do you hate me Dasia? For getting you stuck here with me to either fall in love with me or die here with me." I ask her and she is silent for a moment considering my question.
"No, I do not hate you Horus, I have actually grown a bit fond of you, especially after you saved me, twice." She says as she smiles at me, a true smile.
Dasia then takes her hand and puts it in the palm of my hand. Looking down I can see how small her mortal hand is compared to mine. Closing my hand around hers I look back up at her, this was her telling me that she did trust me even a little bit.
"Am I interrupting?" A male voice asks.
We both look up and there standing before us is Thoth, the god of knowledge, why he was here though was a complete mystery to me. Standing up and thinking this might be a trick I pull Dasia close to me only to see Thoth roll his eyes and laugh.
"I am not Set in disguise, I am not here to study you either Horus, but in fact your little mortal here. She is quite interesting." Thoth says with a grin that would make others laugh.
Dasia doesn't seem to be too comfortable with him though and leans in closer to me.
"Ah she goes closer to you to protection, you have earned her trust, that must mean you only have one barrier to break left with her. I am guessing her heart since the human hear is one of the most complex things I have ever studied." Thoth says as he circles us. "One that barrier breaks it will be just as Hathor predicted she will never leave your side even if she has to die to do so."
"Die?" Dasia questions with a frightful tone.
"I highly doubt Horus would allow that little mortal." Thoth laughs as he walks inside the temple and we follow right behind him. "Your necklace is what allowed you to make the shield, Ma'at after all is the goddess of justice and Horus is in great need of that so you acted on her behalf."
Thoth answered a question both Dasia and I had been asking ourselves.
"Though in order for her to give you an heir would be interesting since she is in fact mortal, the child would be a demi god." Thoth begins to talk about heirs and mortality and Dasia looks scared half to death.
"I would never allow Dasia to be killed, you have nothing to worry about." I say to both Thoth and Dasia as I try to calm her down.
"Right, I am probably scaring the poor thing half to death, anyway I do have a message though, Set is not happy about Hathor putting a loop hole in his curse, he will make you decide between the goddess of love or your mortal." Thoth explains.
"Chose what?" I question.
"Who will die, if you chose Hathor then Set will receive her power but if Dasia dies he keeps your powers."
Dasia looked up to me and I could see the fear and panic written in her eyes. My uncle was determined to get a war and now he was about to make a declaration of war and we didn't have anyway of knowing if my curse was anywhere close to being broken.
"Do you know when?" I question Thoth.
"The next full moon, one week." Thoth answers then disappears.
One week, that was all the time we had? Dasia pulls away and looks at me unsure of what to say.
"I'll die won't I? After all I am mortal and she is a goddess she is need far more than I am." Dasia says as she begins to panic and tries to walk away but I don't let her, instead I pull her back into my embrace.
"No, neither of you will die. I will find a way to kill Set myself, Even without my powers."
