It was the day of their first show. Everything had gone as planned. Patrick chose The Ocean City Boardwalk in New Jersey as their first venue. Pete tagged the sidewalks with their symbol, which the night guards didn't like very much. Joe told everyone on the beach, while Andy set up his drums.
The shops closed before they could play because they didn't want to take part in their show. Who could blame them? This was sort of an illegal operation.
There was a small crowd, but a lot of people were enjoying it. Some people walked by and shook their head in disappointment, but the band didn't notice them. They sang some of their old songs which everyone knew and some of their new songs which everyone loved.
The security guards didn't seem to mind, but they did call higher authority. Their boss told them not to interfere with their small concert.
The concerts continued and seemed to get bigger and wilder. Pete almost got arrested once for tagging the building but outran the cop. Joe began having to be careful which people he told because some were undercover security wearing wires. Patrick had to be picky about which places to play because some were crawling with guards. Andy had to start using a soapbox instead so it was easier to take off if security barged in.
We started to reconsider our plan when the news came on.
"Breaking news. There have been many reported fires and riots seen in the streets of many major cities. Many people believe it is because of the past war. But the war has happened years ago, and the effects can not be just hitting them now. Which leads investigators to believe someone or something could have caused this. Until they find out why, there will be a curfew and everyone is asked to stay inside and lock the doors because these are becoming very violent protests. We will now send you to Dale who is now at a riot in the streets of Chicago."
They could barely hear Dale's report over the yelling in the background, "WAVE THE WHITE FLAG WAVE THE WHITE FLAG!" All of the band members froze and looked at each other knowing this was their doing.
"WE STARTED A REVOLUTION!" Pete screamed in joy jumping off the couch. "WE DID IT!" A huge smile spread across his face.
"Pete." Patrick mumbled shaking his head.
"What? What's wrong?" Pete said still grinning.
"Who is going to protect them?...Yea we started something...a war, which ends with a lot of people dead.....God. Oh God." Patrick said running his fingers through his hair, knocking off his fedora. "What did we do? Shit. Shit. Shit. WHAT THE FUCK DID WE JUST DO?!?" He screamed, starting to hyperventilate again.
