"Alright, we're off to the bar. Behave." Michael said. He was watching his son very carefully. I gave him a nod of clearance that we were good and he closed the door behind him. I walked to the living room where I sat on the couch flipping through Netflix. Brett was leaning on the wall in the hallway on his phone with a girl, I think. Once the door was finally closed Brett hung up the phone and walked into the living room. He sat next to me causing me to look at him.

"Have you heard of personal space? Because I think you need to give me some." I said. He just smirked and stared off at the TV screen. "Why do you do that? Why do you just smirk at me?" I said.

"Because I can." His eyes flickered to mine and he picks up his arm to strap it over my shoulder. "I meant what I said earlier." I rolled my eyes and looked at the TV. I put on 'The Chosen'. "A scary movie? I thought girls were into that lovey-dovey shit." I look at him.

"Love is overrated. There's no point in it. You kiss, have sex, and then go places with each other. Then guess what you're doing the next day? The same damn thing." I explained. He watched me carefully with an amused look. I took a small deep breath. "Seriously move over please," I said. He moved over a little but kept his arm in place.

"I think you're missing the important part of love. The parts most girls see." I paused the movie and looked up at him.

"Like what?" I asked.

"Love isn't just sex and kissing someone. It's the feeling of being completely alone and being able to have someone to count on. To have that one person that won't judge you for your past or your mistakes. Because they know you and they know what you've been through. To have the worst day of your life and have it all better with just one touch, with just one kiss." He explained.

"What if you don't need all that?" I asked. He scuffs and looks down.

"You may think you don't need that but when you finally get to the lowest part in your life you will realize that you've never needed it more. You would kill to have that one person just take all the pain away with just one simple touch." He said. I looked down.

"I guess I never thought about it that way." I look up at him with a small smile. "And here I thought you were a bad boy," I smirked. He lets out a small chuckle.

"I am what I let you see." He said as he turned his attention to the TV. I look at him with a smile. He wasn't so bad. He glances back at me and gives me a small smile in return. "Play the movie." I took a sigh and turned back to the TV and pushed play. I relaxed back only to realize his arm was still there. I glance at him and he was watching me. "Lean back." I do as so and lay on his chest.
