The first new blossoms started to grow in the early morning. Though the winter had just ended and spring had just returned to Middle-Earth, the cold of the previous season was already fought off by the warmth of the newborn sun. And with the sun appearing in the morning sky, flowers in all kinds of colours appeared too. They came out of the ground, grew in the high trees and decorated the bushes. From everywhere all beautiful kinds of colours in all possible shades showed themselves to the Elves of Mirkwood. They opened their leaves and turned to the sun, allowing the shining eye to bring warmth in their hearts. Everywhere my eyes turned to, I saw the blossoms' beauty, even in Thranduil's crown were the flowers greeting me. He stared at me. His blue usually stern eyes now carefully watched my every move with love and pride in them. He had always wanted me to do this, he had always pictured me walking towards his son when he thought of his son's future.

But now, it wasn't the future anymore. It was the presence. Thranduil met my eyes and he smiled at me. I wasn't yet used to his kindness, but I loved to see him looking at me with such love and happiness in his eyes. His smiled showed the satisfaction he felt inside and he rose along with all the others who had came to see me. This time, it wasn't Thranduil who was in the centre of attention. This time it was me. I slowly made my way past the Woodland King and head a whisper next to me. 'Head up and smile, my dear. You look beautiful.' I heard him say and remembered the lessons in walking Thranduil had given me so I wouldn't do something stupid in this precious moment. I lifted my head slightly and the smile that had been hidden because of the nervosity I felt inside, appeared again as I walked further. Thranduil started to sing and the other Elves sang along with their breathtaking voices, and with them sang all the creatures in the Mirkwood forest. The wind hummed with the melody and together they once again sang my beloved symphony.

At the ending of the aisle, once more stood Legolas. Only now there wasn't an enormous stern-looking Troll behind him, and this time there was no haste. Doubt whether I should hurry the last steps rose inside of me, I wanted to be by Legolas's side as quickly as possible, any more seconds apart from him would kill me, but I didn't want this moment to end and the desire to stand still and watch this all, while smelling the sweet scent of the new flowers, was very stong. But I walked towards my groom, slowly and gracefully with a bouquet of the beautiful Woodland flowers close to my chest. My white dress smoothly moved along with me, pure white like the new blossoms on the trees, as I neared my husband-to-be. He did not look at me. He was too busy checking if he wasn't pulling the end of his long loose sleeve with his right hand, or making sure his right pointy ear did not slightly move: both signs of nervosity he had.

But then he looked up and faced me. All the nervosity in his eyes fled away and a light that shone brighter than the spring's sun entered the blue. They widened as the corners of his lips slightly curled up into a sweet smile. The love and relief on his face mixed with utter disbelieve that I now made my way towards him and I saw him fighting the urge to run to me. He stayed there, waited and stared at me with the look of kindness and satisfaction, love and affection that had been in his eyes since the moment I had accepted the marriage. Only now he really seemed to realise it and his happiness caused his lips to curl up even more into a breathtaking big smile of utter joy. His right hand moved away from his sleeve and stopped on his chest, just the place where his heart lied. The place where I had earlier rested my head on.

The white robe he wore looked beautiful on the Elven prince and his long gorgeous locks made their way over his shoulders and past the beautiful collar, kingly decorated with many elegant lines like the entire robe, to his chest. It hung loose on his chest and on his back though one braid was made there. The robe fitted him perfectly and ended just above the ground. Around his head there was a beautiful piece of jewelry. White curly lines met and gave his outfit a graceful and solemn glow.

The rays of sunlight that made their way through the returning leaves shone gently on my shoulders and on the Elf waiting for me. It caressed his hair and his pale skin. I finally reached him and he took my hand in his. Sweetly his thumb stroke over the back of my hand and his soft skin tickled mine. 'You look breathtakingly gorgeous.' He said with a heartwarming smile on his fair face and I felt my cheeks burn a bit. 'At first I couldn't believe it, I thought I was dreaming. But this is reality and I am glad you are here now, standing in front of me. I could not have waited another second, it would have killed me.'

I faced all the people who had come to see me and Legolas getting married and smiled when I recognized Herdith and his father grinning at me. They waved and I rose my hand to secretly wave back. Elves from all the kingdoms were attending our wedding, even lord Elrond and Lindir, Haldir, Celeborn and lady Galadriel had come. They all smiled sweetly at us. I already made a mental note with a list of the Elves I would like to dance with later this day, knowing that we would be partying until the light of the new day entered the night sky, maybe even longer. Mirkwood Elves knew how to celebrate two persons binding themselves with the love for each other. My list was pretty long, and Feren and Thranduil certainly were on it, though I knew that no one would top Legolas on the dancefloor.

All the people who watched us seemed so happy. Thranduil had told me that they had been waiting for Legolas to marry me, entire Mrikwood had been rooting for me without me noticing it. And now it finally happened. All my happiness was mirrored on all the faces of the Elves and they watched how Legolas and I got married. The Elvenking had his right hand on his heart as he looked at us and a genuine smile on his face, a sight that made Legolas and I feel even more content.

I couldn't get enough of the little lights of love in his eyes and counted them as they kept on dancing in the blue. He looked so relieved, so satisfied and filled with genuine joy. I shared the same smile on my face and knew how much that sight meant to him. The smell of the familiar Mrikwood forest – the smell of home – for some reason also hung around Legolas's new wedding robe and it mixed with the new blossoms' essence into a smell I could not get enough from. In the enchanting glow of the morning sun we stood and listened to the spoken words and the symphony on the background.

Loud laughing, cheering and clapping entered my ears when Legolas leant in and kissed me, his bride, now to be called his wife. I enjoyed the sweet familiar taste of his soft lips and his tender hands that were wrapped around me and sweetly caressed me. I placed one of my hands in his by the sun warmed soft hair and stoke over it. The sound of many wings clapping against each other made us stop and we looked up to see the small Maethorion, our beautiful red bird, flying happily over us along with many white doves. It was a beautiful sight to see and Legolas and I both laughed joyously.

Then, as if nothing had happened, we continued our kiss under loud cheering. I recognized Thranduil's child-like laugh accompanied by Elrond's grin in the loud noise. And then Legolas looked at me, his eyes shining with all the love in the world and I recalled how lucky and content I was. All those loving emotions in his eyes and on his face were towards me. That smile on his lips would not leave his face, never. I would make sure that it would always stay there. The pain we had felt, the fear we had to bear during that horrible moment during that battle, was gone. Now there was only love and hope, satisfaction and joy. And his hand in intertwined with mine, causing a tickling feeling on my skin as he rubbed it. Now there was only the smell of home entering my nose and the sound of him softly speaking my name. More words were unnecessary for I knew what he thought. I knew what he felt and felt the same. Now there was only that fluffy feeling of too many good emotions mixed into something that made us unable to speak. We could only smile, knowing that we understood each other. There was only my beautiful husband, glowing in the magical light like a person out of my most pleasant dreams, gazing lovingly at me.

There was only the taste of his soft lips as the symphony entered our ears in the silence, its melody happier, sweeter and more enchanting than ever before.

Hello dearies! That was it. This is the ending of my story. Or, actually, your  story. I desperately hope you liked it and please let me know what you think of it or what I should change to improve this little book. Let me know what you find the best chapter and please comment and vote. Thank you so, so much for reading! Really, it means the world to me!

Then this is the moment we should part. I don't know if I will ever see you again. Many Orcs you will slay and they will be waiting for you to be slain. But does the journey end there? No. The journey doesn't end there. Death is just another path, one which we all must take. The grey curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass.

And then you see it: white shores, and beyond, a far green country, under a swift sunrise. But maybe we will see each other earlier. On another place than the white shores and green countries. Maybe we meet each other in another story. But until that time, I wish you, whoever you may be, a lot of luck and reasons to smile. And a lot of love with your new Elf as husband. Now come your years, and may them be blessed.

I bid you all a very fond farewell...

Galu!

-MS, Saerwen.
