'I.' I stopped myself, looking into the fire, watching as Sting placed a plate on my lap. 'I don't know how.'
'What do you mean you don't know?' Rogue looked at me with confusion, Sting sat next to me, food stuffed in his mouth. 'You have to know.'
'I mean I don't know how to say it.' I looked at the plate, it was piled high with amazing food, I listened to the fire crackling.
'Say what you had to do on it.' Sting had paused eating to hear Rogue and I speaking, Lector and Frosh munched on happily in the background. 'Say what was on the request.'
'The guild master told me what it was.' I couldn't meet their eyes. 'It was horrible.'
'What was it?' Sting put his hand on my shoulder. 'We're not going to judge, that's a promise.'
'It was to-' I couldn't say the word, I still can't. 'I had to- I'm really trying.'
'I know you are.' Sting pulled me closer to him. 'Eat. We'll talk about it later, when you've found the words.'
We ate, light conversation between Sting, Rogue, Lector and Frosh filled the silence. I couldn't speak. How was I to explain what I had been sent to do. Tell them I lied to them. I put down my knife and fork on the plate and walked away from the fire, into the tent. I lay down again, crying. Unbearable pain flooded my body. I held in screams of pain until it subsided. I was left with a slight stinging sensation. I closed my eyes, tears flowing into my hair as gravity took hold of them. I felt the tent open and someone lay next to me.
'What's up?' Sting looked up to the twisted branches that flicked in the sunset through the thin tent roof.
'It's nothing.' Sting gave me a firm but loving look and turned on his side to face me. 'It's nothing important.'
'You're irritating sometimes.' I turned on my side to face him. 'The only reason we want you to tell us about your mission is to help you. You know that don't you?'
'Yeah.' Sting pulled me into his chest, I felt his lips against my forehead. 'I'm afraid.'
'I know, but I'm here for you.' He kissed my forehead again. 'I'll always be here for you.'
'I wish I could promise the same.' Sting pulled me back a little, we still clung onto each other, but now we looked into the others eyes.
'You can.' Sting put his forehead on mine. 'Why wouldn't you be able to?'
'I don't want to promise stuff like that.' I couldn't promise again. 'It could be ripped away from me again.'
'Can you tell me anything about your past.' I felt Sting's breath on my lips. 'Anything at all.'
'I want to start again. Is there anyway we can forget it exists?' I moved my face even closer to Sting's, his lips mere millimetres from mine. 'Please.'
'You can't just do that. It's hard to remove yourself from who you were.' Tears welled up in my eyes. 'I know how desperately you must want to change whatever happened but it's best if you just say it, then we can decide if it's really that bad.'
I moved my hands into Sting's hair, he pulled me closer and we kissed. Warmth filled my body, I didn't want to let him go or to be let go. We kissed again, this time I pulled him towards me.
'I'm sorry Sting.' I lay my head back on his chest and closed my eyes. 'I really am.'
'Don't apologise for stupid things.' Sting wrapped his hands in my hair. 'I like you, like that.'
'I like you too.' I snuggled into Sting.
Silence filled the world, I fell asleep in Sting's arms, happily warmed by him. I woke up slightly when Rogue went to bed, but apart from that I slept soundly.
The next day was boring, we walked a while until we reached the guild. There wasn't any important conversation, nothing I can remember too well. Not until we reached the guild doors. Jiemma was talking about an event called the Grand Magic Games. Sabertooth had won it for a few years in row. I didn't know the competitors, I didn't even listen.
'Now I'll be telling you the team I've put in place.' Jiemma's voice blasted above everything. 'Orga, Rufus, Sting and Rogue.'
'Sir if you don't mind me asking,' Rogue spoke with great fear. 'We need another teammate.'
'Yes. Minerva is unable to attend the first part of the Games.' I tuned in. '(Y/n) will be her replacement.'
'No.' I spoke confidently, this power overrun me.
'(Y/n)!' Sting nudged me harshly. 'What're you doing?!'
'I'm not playing in those games.' I began to walk out of the room. 'That's final.'
'Are you disrespecting me?!' His voice shook me. 'Do you need to be disciplined?'
'No.' I began to open the door, two hands grabbed me and put me into the centre of the room, in front of everyone. 'What do you want.'
'Strip.' I stared wide eyed. 'I said strip.'
'What if I said no?' He too widened his eyes.
'You'll obey me.' His voice was relatively calm. 'I am your guild master.'
'Not anymore.' I whispered some words and my guild mark was covered. 'Goodbye.'
He cast a spell at me, I dodged. There was no hope in him chasing me. He stopped, the room creepily silent. I slammed the front doors, looking into the world I had run from. I walked. I didn't know where I was going but I left, eventually reaching my old guild.
'(Y/n)! Long time no see.' The familiar voice whispered from behind me. 'Come on. Why didn't you do it?'
'Drew, where's Brade?' I looked at him through my peripheral vision. 'I don't have time to wait all day.'
'He's where he always is.' He hissed his words. 'He's waiting for you.'
I walked into the main hall of the building. Shouts erupted.
'Welcome back master (Y/n)!'
