The suspense is pumping in my blood.
Currently, I'm hiding behind a dumbster in an alleyway while in my true form but in a mini disguise. Following Charlie, or rather Rodger, proved to be an easy task as he didn't bother changing his appearance as he walked away from campus with two white scrolls in his hands.
I know he's planning something, I've overheard him talk in his room a few times this week and checked out a couple of papers in his room where he had draft sketches of some sort of plan. Obviously, he wasn't there when I was doing my little investigation. And the only thing I gathered was he's going to make some kind of scene at the mall.
Frankly, I don't know what the hell he'll do or what his goal is anymore. Does he really think he'll succeed in the world's domination by attacking a freaking mall?
It's crazy, but his tries are cute. I'll give him that. Or my powers would go to waste.
I hear a few shuffles of shoes against the concrete floor, and I make sure not to make a move. He definitely doesn't have anything better to do on a Saturday's afternoon. I glance down at my black clothes, not the most original thing to wear but... my hair is blue this time. And short.
I listen carefully for any footsteps, but hear nothing. I lean forward slowly, carefully, and realise the place is empty.
I thought too soon, however.
A fireball was thrown my way and I rolled away on the floor just in time.
Damn it, he knows I'm here.
"Blue? Really?" He comments.
I stand quickly, tearing away my jacket to let out my wings, but got another fireball thrown at me in the process and I jumped backwards in a flip, landing on my knee and hand.
He's not holding back.
I look up and see him up in the middle of the fire escape stairs. Wow, smart. And he had changed into his disguise quite fast and sneakily.
"Interrupted your plan?" I ask, seeing him raise his left hand, readying another fire spit.
"No, actually. I was expecting you to show up."
He throws it and I jump up against the brick wall to my right, causing my fingers to have little blisters from the roughness. Suddenly another one is thrown and it breaks the wall, making me falter and fall on my side.
I hold back a groan and take the moment of the bricks falling to spread my wings swiftly and rush up, missing a fireball that almost touched my feet.
"Flying away now, I see?" He shouts as I reached above the two buildings, his face holding a scowl but his tone smug.
I glare at him and dip down towards him, dodging every fire spit he released at me. He realises what's happening and literally jumps above the railing of the staircase and falls down on his feet to the ground, they bend slightly as he regained his balance. I grabbed on the railing as I slowed down. I notice him starting to run.
Who's running now?
I hate chases. I genuinely do.
I slip back in me my wings and hide my bare back with the jacket. I run fast where he was heading, and I easily spot the back of his brown coat as he hurried between the mounts of people on the sidewalk. I pick up my speed and almost slip when he made a sudden turn to the left, and I hurry before he disappeared. I almost lost where he is, not seeing him anywhere, but I realise he must have hid once he turned.
