Zach's basketball game has just finished and the tigers won! I was so proud of him and the team. I went outside to Zach's car and waited as usual. I was stood there waiting and saw the captain of the opposing team,Connor, walking towards me. I ignored him but he soon stood in front of me and pulled my face so I could see him.

"Hey, why you ignoring me pretty thing?" he attempts to flirt.
"Well, I'm sorry that I don't like talking to pricks. And I have a boyfriend so don't try your shitty flirting on me." I sassed.
"I wasn't hitting on you, you whore. Anyway who's your so called boyfriend?" Connor teases.
"Zach. Zach Dempsey. The guy that did amazing and beat you moments ago." I smirk.
"He wasn't too bad. I guess. I don't know what you see in an idiot like him." Connor points out.
"Maybe I like him because he's not a prick. Or a twat. Or a dickhead that hits on other guys girlfriends." I retort.
"Well, this ugly bitch is getting feisty. I bet I could guess your home life... Parents don't love you, boyfriend is with you for popularity." he

After this I went silent, tears threatened to fall as I considered Connor's statement. Maybe he's right? No he couldn't  be. I look at the ground and then hear Connor speak again.

"Oh look! It's the boyfriend that doesn't love you and his sidekick." Connor laughs
"Boyfriend that doesn't love her? You clearly don't know me." Zach responds.
"And sidekick. Really?" Justin pipes up.
"Keep quiet Justin. What have you been saying to my girlfriend Connor?" Zach says, clearly getting angry.
"The truth."
"Which is?"
"That you're using her for popularity and that her parents don't love her." Connor states smugly.

I was sobbing into my hands. The next thing I heard were fists meeting face and then someone running away. I stayed paralysed, scared to look up.

"You know I love you right? And that I'm not with you for the popularity?" Zach tells me.

I stayed silent.

"Y/n. Say something please." he begs.

Silence. Then I gain the courage to speak.

"I guess..." I trail off.
"Well there should be no guessing about it. I love you Y/n."
"I love you too Zach."

We lean in for a long, passionate kiss. But it gets cut short.

"Eww. Are you guys done with the lovey dovey stuff?" Justin mocks.
"Yeah" Zach chuckles.
"Come on boys lets go home." I smile.
