The Sixth Paladin

Chapter 17

We flew back to the castle, and went to the control room where Coran is. I'm not looking forward to his reaction of Allura still being on that ship.
"Pidge, scan the download on that ship. Find out where Zarkon's central command is." Shiro ordered.
"On it."
"What happened? Where's Allura?" Coran ran over.
"They captured her. She sacrificed herself for me and the information. I didn't have a choice."
"How is that possible?"
"Coran, I'm sorry things didn't go as planned. But we can't focus on what went wrong. We've got to figure out how to make it right. Pidge, anything?" Shiro sounded annoyed.
"Guys look at this." Pidge put images of the ship on the screen
"Look at the size of it!"
"I think we should go in right away. Every minute we waste gives Zarkon time to prepare for us." Pidge said.
"I agree. We form Voltron fly in, fly off, dust off our hands and walk away." Lance said.
"Uh do you guys remember the Balmera? We could barely take on one fleet. But this. A base this size will have thousands of fleets!" Hunk pointed out.
"Or maybe we shouldn't go on this mission at all. Think about it. We'll be delivering the universe's hope to the universe's biggest enemy." Keith said. I crossed my arms and looked at him in the eye.
"Keith, that's cold. What if it was one of us, what if it was me? You wouldn't leave me behinds would you?" I said. Keith frowned, reaching out to uncross my arms and take my hands.
"I'm not saying I like the idea. I'm just thinking like a paladin."
"No! You're just thinking of yourself because you're too scared to do what's right!"
"Lance!"
"Okay we're all upset because we lost Allura." Pidge said.
"No, Shiro lost Allura!" Coran said.
"Okay, this isn't helping! We can't just sit here and bicker like this." Hunk said, in hopes of calming us down.
"Okay, let's focus. How are we going to get Allura?"

Allura was put in some cell. She didn't know how long she's been sitting here. The door suddenly opened, revealing Haggar with guards.
"Come with me."

"Anything?" Shiro asked Lance who was typing at the computer at his seat.
"There's just no way in. They'll have us tracked from every direction."
"There's got to be something, keep looking."
"Hey." I looked up from my screen to see Keith standing next to my seat.
"Yeah?"
"About earlier, when you asked about if it was you that was taken." He trailed off, shuffling his feet.
"Yeah?" I pressed. He grabbed my hand and looked me in the eye.
"If it was you, I would already be gone. You're a different person to me than Allura." I blushed and began to stammer but he kept talking.
"I guess Lance was right, I am scared to see what will happen." He looked away.
"Aw sweetie, it's okay. Being scared in normal. I can understand why you said that." I said soothingly. He smiled and leaned forward to peck me on the lips. (I LOVE SOFT KEITH AHH.)
"Yo love birds, could you guys stop being gross and focus?"
"Way to ruin the moment Lance."

After walking through long halls and getting on a elevator, Haggar led Allura to the person she hates most. Zarkon. With her hands cuffed, she was led over to him.
"Princess Allura." His deep voice seemed to vibrate the room. Rage suddenly took over Allura.
"You monster! You destroyed Altea!" She ran to him, only for Haggar to life her up with her magic. Haggar let go and she fell to the ground in pain.
"Voltron is going to put an end to your empire!"
"No. It will only make me more powerful. Your father knew that as well as I. That's why he led me to believe he destroyed it all those years ago. But now your new Paladins will come for you and they will deliver Voltron to me, and with it the key to unimaginable power."

"Everyone, eyes front." I looked up at Shiro and Coran. "We got a plan to get Allura. We're going to jump to the heart of the enemy, unseen and undetected."
"I thought we needed Allura to open up a wormhole." Pidge pointed out.
"It's true that Allura powers the castles ability to travel through wormholes. However, I think we have enough residual essence stored in the system to make one jump." Coran said, then turned to the screen. "We'll hide the castle in one of these has planets in side Zarkon's command system. The gas is so dense we'll be hidden."
"From there we'll use the castle to scan for Allura on Zarkon's ship and attack before he knows what hit him." Shiro then said.
"There's only one hiccup. We have enough energy to wormhole in, but without Allura we don't have enough energy to wormhole out." Coran said.
"It doesn't matter, we're not leaving without her."

"We're here." Said Shiro.
"I'm detecting Allura's energy signature. From this distance the signals pretty weak, but she's somewhere on Zarkon's main ship." Coran said.
"Gives us a starting point."
"Once we get closer we'll be able to narrow down the location where the princess is being held."
"Okay guys, this is it. Voltron is going to come in fast and without warning. We'll smash our way into Zarkon's ship and grab the princess. Before they know what hit them, we'll have the princess and be on our way."
*Voltron forming scene*
We flew over to the main ship. A purple barrier came up.
"What is that?"
"I don't know. But I hope once we get the princess we can find a way out of here." Pidge answered as we flew through the barrier just as it closed. Once we got in, there was multiple ships, ready to fight.
"They're going to fire!" Just as Pidge said that, all the ship's began to fire. We formed the sword and cut along one of the ships, making it explode. We did the same thing to others.
"More trouble straight ahead!" There was a line of ships, firing at us.
"Form shoulder cannon!" We shot the ship's, each going down.
"There's Zarkon's ship!" We flew to the biggest ship right in the middle. But suddenly Voltron stopped. We all grunted and yelled, trying to get it to move again.
"What's going on?"
"We lost the sword! Something is malfunctioning!"
"What's happening?" Coran asked.
"Somebody do something, Voltron's frozen up!"
"Shiro!"
"I can't hold it." Then, we wall broke apart by force making us groan.
"What just happened there?" Hunk asked.
"Something tore us apart!" I said.
"I don't know, but we've got bigger problems. Look!" We turned to see a lot of of fighter ships, ready to attack.
"Why do I get the feeling they knew we were coming?" Keith said. Smaller ships came out of the bigger ones, we had no choice but to go after them. We all flew to the ships, each of us shooting at ships.
"There's no end to these guys!" Hunk said. Suddenly a giant blue laser came out of nowhere, I looked over to see the castle coming.
"Coran attack! I've been waiting 10,000 years for this!" We cheered for Coran.
"Shiro are you okay?" Keith asked. Then I realized I could hear Shiro groaning through the PA.
"Something is overriding the controls! My lion is not responding!" Shiro suddenly started screaming.
"Shiro's in trouble, I'm going in!" Keith said, and took off. I continued with the others to destroy the ship's. I looked over to see Shiro get ejected out of the black lion, and the lion be taken into Zarkon's ship.
"What do we do now guys? Our plan isn't going as, well planned."
"I'm going after the black lion. You guys get the princess now!" Shiro ordered.
"I've identified Allura's exact location. Sending you the coordinates now! In the meantime I'll provide cover fire out here, all alone. Against an entire fleet. So, yeah, do you mind hurrying?" Coran said.
"My jetpacks damaged, I'll need to go through the ship." Shiro said.
"You guys get the princess without me." Keith suddenly said.
"What? No, we got to stick together. What are you doing?" I asked. I turned to look for him.
"What ever I can." I looked to see him knock the black lion, preventing it from getting inside the ship. He flew over to the lion, when something, or someone flew over to the lion.
"Whoa, who is that?" Keith asked. I looked on my screen to see what he was seeing.
"That's Zarkon!" Coran said. "Keith get out of there! Now! He's too powerful!"
"This is my chance to put an end to the Galra empire. I'm going to take it!"
"Keith, don't you dare!" I yelled. He ignored me and charged to Zarkon.
"Why am I dating such an idiot?" I whispered to myself. I took a deep breath and let it out.
I flew over to Keith, just as he recovered from a hit.
"Korra, what are you doing here. It's too dangerous." Keith said.
"Try telling that to yourself. If you're going to be stupid and go after Zarkon, the least I can do is help."
"You cannot stop me." Zarkon said, making us turn to him. "The black lion will finally return to it's original paladin." I growled and shot at Zarkon. The dust cleared, Zarkon had a shield up. Keith suddenly took off, I followed after him. He landed hard, trying to squish Zarkon. I landed next to him. I looked over to see Zarkon, ready to fight. We both ran after him, shooting lasers. Zarkon sliced us both, making the lions fall. Alarms blared, as I groaned. Zarkon shot a big laser at us, that we barely avoided.
"Keith, Korra get out of there." Coran said.
"Keith I think we should go!" I said. He ignored me again, getting his lions jaw blade.
"Don't you dare ignore me!"
"Keith, you don't know what you're dealing with! He's too powerful! Listen to me--" Keith turned off his comms.
"Keith? Keith!" I yelled. I growled in frustration as Keith went after him again. I flew after him. Keith got grabbed by the whip Zarkon had and was flung into the ship.
"I can't believe I'm doing this." I said. Then charged towards Zarkon. He got out his sword swinging. I managed to hit him a couple of times, then got whacked into the ship. I groaned as the alarms went off again. I looked to see Zarkon flying towards Keith.
"Keith, move!" I yelled. But he didn't. Suddenly,  machine appeared on the red lions back. It shot out a powerful laser, that knocked Zarkon's down.
"Korra, come on!" Keith said, I followed him up, and he kept shooting at Zarkon.
"You fight like a Galra soldier." Zarkon said. I looked around, I couldn't see him.
"But not for long!"
"Keith!" Zarkon knocked the red lion down. Before I could react, Zarkon did the same to my lion. Now our lions lied on the ship, just waiting for Zarkon's final attack. I tired to get my lion to move. Then the black lion appeared, shooting Zarkon. Shiro flew over just as I got my lion to move. He grabbed Keith and we flew towards the castle.
"Okay paladins, time to get out of here." Allura said. But no wormhole.
"Hello? What's going on I don't see a wormhole." Hunk said.
"The Galra barrier is jamming our ability to create one!"
"They have us completely surrounded!" Coran said, as all the ship's were coming towards us. Suddenly the barrier disappeared.
"What just happened?"
"Who care? Wormhole!" So, a wormhole appears and we go through. Then, the color changed from the usual blue to purple. That's not good.
"Coran what's happening?"
"The integrity of the wormhole has been compromised! It's breaking down!"
"What does that mean?"
"It means we have no control of where we're headed!"
We all suddenly flew off the castle and we all hit different parts of the wormhole, going who knows where.
