Imagine - Second Chance

"Mommy?" days your son
"Yes baby?" You say
"Why don't I have a daddy? Everyone else has one. Can we buy one from the shop?" He asks
You gulp
"Umm JaeMin why don't you play upstairs" you tell him
"Okay" he smiles

You take a glass out of the cupboard and fill it with some water then chug it down. You knew this day was going to come but never so soon.

"Mommy?" You heard his voice again
"Yes baby?"
"Who's this?" He asked as he showed you a picture
"Oh um this is Mark um mommy's friend" you answer
"Oh okay" he shrugs
"Go sit down JaeMin, dinner is ready"

•Later•

You were walking with JaeMin holding your hand.
"Mommy can we find Daddy now?" He asks
"Um yeah sure(?)" you answer
"DADDY! DADDY WHERE ARE YOU?" He starts to shout

You continue your 'search' until you reach a cafe. You both walk in and the first thing you see was him. With his friends. At a table. He makes eyes contact with you but you look away immediately. You take JaeMin's hand once again and lead the 4 year old to the cashier.
"What can I get you?" Asks the worker
"One coffee and one orange juice and a chocolate muffin please" you order
"Right away. That will be 15 dollars. Take a seat ma'am" she says
"I'll pay" says a deep voice
Looking to your left, you see Mark holding up 15 dollars
"Mommy is this your friend?" Asks JaeMin
"Umm yeah baby. Thanks but I can pay" you tell Mark
"Too late" he gives the cashier lady the money
"Thanks" you pick up JaeMin and walk to a table

"Mommy why did you walk away? He's your friend right?" Asks JaeMin
"Um not really JaeMin" you answer "here, play on my phone" you give him your phone
"Yay!" He takes it

"Hey Y/N" you heard his voice again
"What do you want Mark?" You ask
You look at JaeMin to see he has already put on his headphones
"Can't I say hello to my son?" He asks
"He's not your son anymore Mark. You said you couldn't be a father so you're not"
"Look Y/N," he grabs a chair and hold your hand which you move away immediately "*sigh* I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left you in the situation you were in. Everyday, all night, you were the only thing on my mind. For 4 years I wanted to contact you in anyway possible but I knew you wouldn't forgive me"
"You're right. I won't"
"But please, at least let him know that I'm his father. And let me take care of him sometimes...give me another chance. I can be a great dad...and if you want, I can be a great boyfriend again..."
"You're my daddy?" Asks JaeMin
He took off his headphones?!

Mark looks at you. You sigh.
"Yes JaeMin, this is daddy" you confess
"Daddy!" He screams as he runs to Mark embrace
Mark pulls him in a hug.
"Do you give me another chance?" Asks Mark
You look at JaeMin who was trying to get Mark's attention
"*sigh* yes i do"

Mark gets up and gives you a hug.
"I promise you won't regret it. I love you...so much" he says
