See you again...
*************
After galloping for what seemed like an eternity, I jump off Lollipop with my feet landing on the floor with a thud. I run my fingers through my hair because of the riding my hair is windswept, my fingers getting stuck in the tangled waves. To my right Tristan has just hopped off his horse before making his way into the dimly lit house. I quickly walk with him- the gravel crunching underneath my toes as I slightly jog. The door creaks as Tristan opens it letting me in. The house is quite warm with some soft music being played so it is not in utter silence. I hear a guitar being played in the background and a soft voice singing. I navigate the sound to be coming from the living room so I tiptoe across the creaky floorboards and peer inside. I'm shocked to find James, Brad and Connor singjng whilst playing instruments! I never knew they were so musically talented!
"They're good aren't they?" I hear a voice say behind me. I turn around to find Tristan stood behind me, watching me listen in on them. He smirks at me before walking through the door into the living room. I shake my head and smile- only Tris. I peer back into the room to find Tristan now has a box and is continually tapping it with a rhythm. Brad's voice is loud and the harmonies are easy to define. The guitars sound amazing with their sound echoing into the house. The song is one that I've never heard before but the lyrics are beautiful, clever, interesting- enchanting.
Finishing the last chorus, Bradley looks around and smiles at their performance. They all look very happy as easy grins are spread across their faces.
"Those lyrics are brilliant James! I have a guess about who that is about," Connor exclaims throwing a quick wink in at the end to James. It feels bad to eavesdrop but I want to find out who James wrote that song about! Was it Rosie? He was really hung up on her, you could tell he had strong feelings for her.
"Shut up Connor. We can't let her know as it's supposed to be a surprise! James whispers to all the others. So it's defiantly not about Rosie as it can't be a surprise for her! She would have already known about it. I take this as my cue to leave and begin tiptoeing from the living room until I'm outside into the afternoon air. I can hear the laughter from the house even out here next to the horses! I continuously stroke Lollipop until I decide I've been outside long enough for them to not think I was listening in.
Walking across the grass, I open the door after a slight knock (we do it three times then pause and then three times again) and then let myself in. I hear some running and a scream of pain as the living room door opens on my right. Suddenly I am in someone's arms and I notice the scent as James. It would be quite weird if it was any of the others so it's pretty obvious that it must be James. I smile into his chest as he kisses my forehead and then resting his chin on top of my head. The other boys walk out all dressed casually in jodphurs and dress shirts. Their hair is all messy as I see them roll their eyes at us. Tristan is the only one dressed formally (formally as in a secondhand suit as they're all poor and can't afford clothes) as he comes and joins in on the hug whilst wrapping his arms around our bodies. We all laugh and before long everyone is in the group hug.
"Tristan! I haven't seen my girl in two days and you have to come and ruin our hug? Friendship over." James complains jokingly. We all laugh at what he said whilst James and I manage to peel Tristan, Brad and Connor off us. James and I break from the hug before turning around to go walk into the living room where the others have wandered off. I sit down on the floor next to James as he throws his arm aroumd me and we cuddle up. The other three are all sat on the dusty sofa uncomfortably. I look around and notice that all the paint is peeling off the walls and the floor boards are dirty. The furniture is old and battered whilst there are cobwebs on the black ceiling. It's no secret that this house is completely in need of a good clean plus decorating.
