He's.... Numb?

Maimuna's POV

I slowly woke up and same Malik. He had dyed his hair brown. He was sitting on a chair, reading The Noorday Demon. But why would he read it? He's not a loner... Is he?

"Malik?" I called but he didn't answer. Then I notice that he had a red earpiece on his ears. Just as I was about to get off the bed he noticed me and looked at me. He had little dark circle under his eyes. His sea blue eyes were brighter. But he remained silent, like he doesn't know me. I felt embarrassed and left the room. That was weird. I need to pray Asar.

Once I was done I made a Dua (Prayer). Malik came down dressed in a black Nick sweater and sweatpants with a pair of black sneakers.

"I'll be back soon." he said in a cold tone and walked through the door.

Malik POV

I got into the gym. I had signed a membership for a year but haven't been coming for a week now.

I went to the trending mill and ran 10km for 15 minutes. Later, I pulled out my sweater and joined others in the basketball court.

That's when I felt different. I was faster, more flexible and stronger. I lightly push everyone away but it felt like I pushed them with force. When I had the chance to score I jumped really high and slammed it in. That was a really loud sound that

"That was dope mate. Guess I know why.." my teammate Kyle said.

"Huh... No you don't."

"Cmon. Think we don't know you got married?." he teased.

"Ja... Believe whatever you want, it's non of my concern." I said a little pissed off.

"Bro... You are turning red. That's... Unusual." I felt my face getting hot.

"No... Its nothing." I pulled out my phone to order some pizza. "I'll take a shower..... And go rest."

I walked back back home and opened the front door. I walked to the kitchen. I saw Maimuna holding a tray. She looked like a wreck. With floor and chocolate paint on her face.

"Hey, welcome." she greeted.

"Yeah, thanks. What you baking?"

"Muffins."

"....Cool.... I'll go take a shower and change." I said walking through the stairs. "And by the way, a pizza will be delivered within 5 minutes. I have everything all paid so you don't have to pay for it."

I was at the counter... Reading The Noorday Demon. That's when it stroke me. I completely ignored her as she woke up. That's.... Strange? Come to think of it, she isn't fully comfortably around me. Leat how I expected her to be. Maybe I should spend some time with her and make her happy. I threw the book pass the window and met her in the living room.

"Maimuna?" I asked in a nervous tone.

"Yeah?" she replied looking at me.

"I'm sorry for... Well, making you feel embarrassed."

"Its OK. By the way, you've been looking stressed lately. What's wrong?" I chuckled.

"What did I do to deserve such a caring person like you?"
