Chapter 3- Bowling Alley Bananza

I walked into the bowling alley, making sure I made a big entrance. Although I don't consider myself pretty or noticeable, I like to make big entrances. Not even for attention. I searched around the bowling alley, looking for Kristi and Ashton.

Once I found them, I ran up to them and jumped on Ashton's back- causing him to almost fall. "Whoops," I whispered. "My mistake." I blushed. Ashton growled and didn't say anything, although I knew he was holding back a laugh. Something about Ashton fascinated me, was it the way he always had a twinkle in his eyes? Or was it the way he always made sure every one else was okay before him? The way he looks at me? I'm not even sure. I shouldn't even be thinking about how good-looking and charming Ashton is, I barely even know him. I don't know his family, his back story.. Him.

"Hey Ana, don't I get a 'hello' too?" Kristi joked. I laughed evilly and started running, as Kristi moved out of the way whenever I tried to head-butt her. I pretended to pant after running for 1 second, causing Ashton, Kristi and whoever else was watching me to laugh.

"Sorry, I didn't know you wanted one." I replied, laughing. While me and my new friends were laughing and talking, I saw a girl walk into the bowling alley. She looked awfully familiar, but then again, I was looking at her from the corner of my eye.

I decided to ignore the girl. It's not like I really knew her. I just thought I did. Big difference.

I thought wrong.

The girl I thought I knew came rushing towards me and my new friends, and for a second I thought she was charging at us. It really looked like she was.

"Who's that girl coming towards us?" Kristi asked.

"She looks familiar, hm." Ashton added. I nodded my head in confusion.

The "familiar" girl walked up to us and she looked at all of our face until her eyes met mine. "Ana! You little-" The girl began. Then I noticed her. Her voice, her eyes. Her hair. It was Sarah.

"Sarah, hey!" I said cheerfully, not thinking about the texts we exchanged this morning.

"Can we talk? In private?" She asked. I nodded my head and signalled  to my friends that I'd be right back, although I knew me and Sarah's conversation may take a while.

"Sarah, bae what's up?" I asked. She shook her head angrily and disapprovingly.

"What happened to-" She stopped for a second and took out her phone. She went on her Messages app and went to our conversation. She reread what I texted to her.

"No! You know I can't. My mom would kill me if she found out I was with any friends. Especially today." She read aloud. "What happened  to that ?" She asked.

I sighed loudly and took a deep breath. "I thought today was Friday and I thought you were referring to skipping school when you texted me. I even went to school and everything and I asked my new friend Kristi why school hadn't started. She told me that today is Saturday and then invited me to go bowling."

Sarah rolled her eyes. "Mhm. You seem to like your new friends more than me, Ana." She thought aloud.

"No I don't!" I denied.

"Yeah, okay. Talk to me when you realize what I'm saying is true. Until then, don't fucking speak to me. You clear, balloon head?"

"Just because I know how to make friends doesn't mean I have a big head. Jealousy doesn't look good on you, Sarah. If you were a true friend, you would be happy that I'm making real friends," I shot back.

"No. Not when they're replacing me. You're becoming popular, you promised me you wouldn't."

"and you promised that you'd always be happy for me. Guess some promises are meant to break."

"… You're fucked up. No wonder everyone hated you at your old school. No wonder they called you a whore. You are one."

You are one.

My eyes started to twitch which signalled me that I was going to start crying. I walked out of the bowling alley, and I ran. It started to rain so I ran back to the doors, where they had an umbrella covering the doors.

Tears ran down my cheeks as Sarah's rude comeback came flashing in my mind. My long and straight brown hair was blowing every which way, and I knew for a fact that there was eyeliner smeared everywhere on my face. I didn't want to be noticed. The fact that Sarah brought up something that hurt me so much made me wonder who was really there for me. Who could I tell my past to without them bringing it up ever again? Who? Absolutely no one.

                                       *~*

I started to get way too lost in my thoughts when someone walked out of the bowling alley. I looked to see who it was, and it was Ashton. Ashton, the "friend."

"Hey, what's up?" He asked, putting his hand around my shoulder.

"Have you ever told your life story to someone, and then, when that certain someone and you get in a fight, they use your past as a comeback? As a way to win the fight?" I asked him, not making eye contact.

"Yeah, why?"

"Well, it hurts. Especially when that certain someone  knows everything."

Ashton looked at me worriedly. "You want a ride home? I'm guessing you're not in the mood to.. you know.. bowl." He said awkwardly.

I smiled and replied, "Yeah. Tell everyone I had to leave or something."

"Whatever you say, madam," He laughed. His laugh was so damn cute.

                               *~*

Aren't they so cute? Sarah, I never thought I'd make her be a bitch. Well, whatever.
