I have nowhere to go.
I can't go back home when Nathan is still there. I can't go and stay at Chloe's house because she would be visiting her parents this whole month and would not be returning anytime soon. So I guess my only option is the hotel...?
I was walking around aimlessly, weighing my options down but my emotions got the better of me and I can't stop the tears from falling down my face. The tears in my eyes were blurring my vision and I ended up knocking onto something hard only to realize it was someone's chest
"I'm sorry." I said frantically, wiping the tears with the back of my hands, trying to clear up some form of vision.
"It's ok." The deep voice said as he steadied me and prevented me from breaking a fall by holding my elbows. His voice was oddly familiar but I can't seem to put a finger on it as my mind was just in an emotional mess. "Stella?" The voice called of out to me. "Hey, what's wrong?"
How did he know my name? After trying to wipe away the tears that just don't seem to stop, I looked up the tall figure in front of me to find the stranger I've grown to know.
"Luke?" I said in disbelieve.
Luke and I grew up together and we had gone to the same high school and college together. He was like a big brother I wish I had although we were of the same age. He was always the one looking after me and I couldn't have been more fortunate enough to have him in my life. But we slowly grew apart in college after I've met Nathan. Nathan and Luke for some odd reason, hated each other the minute they set eyes. I tried everything to get them to get along but nothing worked and slowly, over time, I stopped talking to him.
His looks definitely had changed. He seems to grow more good looking and mature with his well-kept dark blond, Ivy League hairstyle and the light stubble on his chin. His freckles were visible when close and his memorizing emerald green eyes that seem to have the capability to make every girl swoon.
My first instinct was to give him a soul-crushing hug as I wrapped my arms his big form and planting my face onto his chest as I cried, my sobs were muffled by his clothing. All I needed now was some form of comfort and Luke just so happen to be the best option right now.
"Hey, it ok." Luke said, slightly taken aback by my unexpected action as he slowly returned the hug, resting his chin on top of my head as he drew soothing circles on my back.
"It...hurts." I murmured out, not sure if Luke could even make out my words as my face was planted on his chest.
"Ssshh..." He cooed as he slowly broke off the hug to look at my face.
"I-I'm sorry." I said quietly.
"For?"
I pointed embarrassingly to his damped shirt that was now covered with my tears. He chuckled lowly as he took hold of arms and started dragging me.
"W-" I was about to question him about what he was doing but he answered me before I could even do so.
"I'm bringing you back to my place. I can't have you like this in public." He didn't look at me but focus his eyes on the streets. I was practically being dragged as I had a hard time keeping up with his long strides. He seems to notice me having a hard time catching up with him as he started to slow down. It took less than 5 minutes before we reached Luke's apartment.
The exterior of the building looked as though the 3 buildings merged together. It was painted white with large window panels that have cover ninety percent of the building. The lobby of the apartment was quite deserted besides two old gentlemen who are at the entrance of the apartment, opening up the door for us and two ladies who are at the receptionist desk. The moment Luke and I stepped in, the two ladies quickly stood up from their seats at the receptionist desk and put their hands in front of them, overlapping each other as the bowed respectfully to Luke as they look at him in admiration and...lust? After standing there and gawking at Luke, their eyes shifted to I and also Luke's hand which is on my arm. Their face quickly changes into disgust and jealousy but I choose to ignore it. I understand how this looking right now and how they clearly idolized Luke. I mean, who doesn't?
