|Tiffany's Third P.O.V.|
|Continuing the Day||Alexa's Home|
Gripping the strap of her cheerleader back pack, Tiffany knocked harder on Alexa's house door, hoping she would finally answer.
"I don't know what happened," Melina said from behind her, "She never lets them bother her this much," she finished up after her call to Alexa went straight to voice mail. Maybe Alexa isn't home?
Tiffany rolled her eyes. Words and actions are two different things. You can protect yourself from words; how can you protect yourself from what they did? A PornHub poster... degrading... it's the lowest you can go.
Yes, Alexa can be feisty and she has pissed off the wrong people, but this is wrong. Jesus, between her and April, Tiffany didn't know who to sympathize with more.
"May I help you?" Her mom swung opened the door. Melina put her phone as they both shared the same afraid expression.
How were they going to explain that a fake sexual video of her daughter surfaced on the internet and they're here to check on her?
Alexa's parents played a huge part in her life. Almost everything she did was because of them. Would they be disappointed in her?
"Um, is Alexa home?" Tiffany's voice came out higher than it should have.
Her mom still showed no signs of letting them in. Alexa wasn't allowed to have friends over, "Alexis is resting. Come back another time," she went to close the door but Tiffany put her right Reebok shoe in between the door... a move she instantly regretted.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Cabrera. We really have to see you. I can't explain..." Tiffany looked at Melina to help her out. The trick only whistled and turned her head in the other direction.
Tuh.
"You're trying to see her about that video. My baby girl doesn't need reminding of it, thank you very much. We are handling it," her annoyed look turned into a glaring one. So, she's really in her daughters life.
Hard finding parents like that in these high school stories.
A smile formed on both of their faces.
"That's great, Mrs. Cabrera. We was only worried about her. I totally came straight here after practice," Tiffany's eyes gleamed.
"Alexa is a tough girl with tough parents," Melina grinned.
Tiffany's heart clutched. Damn. If only her mom was like this when she had her break downs.
"I'm sorry if I scared you two. I'm only pissed, I know you're her friends. She has frames of you two, you know,"
At this point, their teeth were showing from smiling so hard.
"You two better head home. Melina, you know Chavo has his curfew for you. Don't worry about Alexis.... she's well taken care of," They both nodded understandably.
"To my house we go," Melina sighed.
As the two headed back to Melina's car, Tiffany got a text from Jeff.
Hm... this was unexpected. Normally, Jeff planned their hangouts ahead of time. He never liked abruptly dropping in on her, he respected her space. Besides, does he not remember she's spending the night with Melina? Melina lives closer to Alexa.
Grand central market? It would be a perfect time to go around this hour; it's normally a little bit busy at 4pm on Friday's.
Her favorite part is the parking. There's a parking garage connected to it; it's right past the entrance to the market on the hill. It's $3 for the first 90 minutes and $2 per 15 minutes after that.
It's funny to her... she doesn't know why. It's a weird funny humor she has towards the world. Like, pulling out green paper to park the metal moving object. It's hilarious.
"Are you okay?"
Tiffany looked up from her phone. Melina was on the driver's side of the car staring at her.
Looking at the side of Melina's face, Tiffany hummed, "Okay! Okay!" she said in her preppy voice, "Jeff wants me home! He's taking me to Grand Central Market!" as she continued smiling, Melina's face shifted to disapproval.
Don't get her wrong; she isn't a friend that thinks he's controlling or abusive. It's the other friends who've created that stereotype of him in their minds. Melina knows what's it's like to deal with rough judgement purely stereotype-based on you.
She was disappointed in Tiffany. Grand Central Market can wait. Yes, Alexa's mom said she's handling the situation and lawyers are involved but at any given moment, Alexa can call and say she needs them; or want to talk to cover up the thoughts in her head. She won't blatantly say it but Melina has known her long enough to figure out her coding.
Tiffany pouted, "The face! Remove it!" She stomped her foot as she swung open the car door and got inside. A surprised date after one of her cheer practices; he must have gifts waiting for her.
Ooh, maybe it's an apology for yesterday? When they were watching her favorite movie, Legally Blonde, he left after Corey called him. She didn't hear the full conversation but Corey was in a pickle and, like always, Jeff was one of his friends to aid him.
She hated being second.
"Do you think I'll let you dismiss the situation with Alexa?" Melina hated Jeff. They all hated Jeff.
"Her mom said she's fine!" Tiffany smiled. Without another word, she giggly got in the passenger seat and did her seatbelt dance. Pulling her phone out with a sigh, she checked the time to see how late she would be home.
"... You're a piece of work, you know?" Melina defeatedly sighed before cranking up the engine and pulling off. She'd just have to drop Tiffany off then camp outside Alexa's house for a bit.
Now more than ever, Melina believed Alexa needed them. To put your boyfriend over one of your best friends was a line Melina could never cross herself.
Obviously, not everyone held the same mindset she did.
