What happened to Fate
It was mothers day, and I (Justin) was out smoking with Drew, discussing about Fate. Currently living with our parents, Fate has been planning on moving in with me and Drew. We were 19, and she was 16, and we were planning on letting her stay at our house.
Our dad is abusive. He has been since forever. I had already escaped his torture, while Fate hasn't. We (me and Drew) had finally decided to let her stay with us. While out smoking, about a block away, Fate was going to tell our parents she was moving in with us. The fist mistake was mom was out with some friends. After the party we had, she was going out with some friends as a special get-together.
The second mistake was that Fate had told our father ALONE. That was what caused this.
Me and Drew had went back to they're house, planning on saying goodbye. The first sign that something wasn't right was the fact that door was slightly open. Then I has saw that dad was gone and Fate lying unconscious, with a small puddle of blood around her.
Of course, I immediately checked her pulse and didn't feel any, so I began CPR as Drew phoned the police. She woke up, terrified and really badly hurt. I got a cloth and put it to the worst wound, which was on her side. Then she just fainted and went limp.
The ambulance came, and immediately rushed her into the ER. Me and Drew rushed there, calling our mom and Star (her best friend). When we got there we waited.

When Fate has woken up and was okay as much as she could be, me and mom visited her first. Turns out dad had flipped out when she told him. He had beaten her, kicking and punching her, then stabbed her multiple times, purposely making sure it wouldn't kill her.
After that, he took off, leaving her for dead. If me and Drew had already left, by the time mom came, she'd probably have been dead. Yet, I was there earlier, I could have stopped it. The police had found dad and arrested him. He will his trial will be in about two weeks, but he's already out of luck, attempted murder isnt gonna fly.
Drew and Start had visited her, and then left, but me and mom stayed. Mom was a wreck, sobbing and terrified. I was pissed, and in shock. Fate had galled asleep, then around 1 o' clock she fell into her coma, and hasn't waken up since.
Please think about how bad the abuse is now. Think of unfortunate people like Fate, my sister, and many others who have been through hell. Please help find ways to end this, and don't forget to spread the word.
