Chapter 3: Regrets

(The kids were sleeping in the backseat while Lara was driving in her enclosed Jeep. She picked up her walkie-talkie and contacted Sully.)

Lara: (Whispers) "Hey, Sully. How's it going on your end?" (She waited for a response and he answered.)

Sully: (COM) "We're doing fine over here."

Lara: (Whispers) "Good. How's Bryce Zip and Mason?"

Sully: (COM) "They're doing alright. Hanging in there."

Lara: (Whispers) "And Sam?"

Sully: (COM) "He's asleep."

Lara: (Whispers) "Okay, just called to make sure you're okay. Everyone in my Jeep is asleep."

Sully: (COM) "Okay, I'll speak to you later."

Lara: (Whispers) "Okay." (A few hours later, they arrived at the apartment complex and Lara turns off the car.)

Lara: "Nathan, kids. Wake up. We've arrived." (Nathan blinked and looked around.)

Nathan: "Where are we?"

Lara: "We're home. Come on." (Isabelle and Trevor woke up, too. Lara grabs her stuff and the rest did as well.)

Lara: "Come on. Up the stairs."

Nathan: "Okay, we're coming." (They went up two flights of stairs and Lara unlocked the door and walked in her apartment. She turned on the light to the kitchen.)

Lara: "It isn't much, but it'll keep us sane.

Nathan: "It'll do. Go on ahead, kids. Put on your pajamas and head off to bed."

Trevor: "Good night, dad."

Nathan: "Good night, Trev." (He kissed his head and hugged him. Trevor did the same to Lara and Isabelle too.)

Lara: "Good night, children." (Isabelle and Trevor went into the bedroom where they share beds. Sully and Sam came upstairs with the dog kennel.)

Sully: "Nice place you got here."

Sam: "Yeah, this'll work just fine. How many rooms you got in here."

Lara: "Seven rooms total."

Sully: "Wow! That's a lot of rooms! Most apartments often have 4 bedrooms or less."

Lara: "Well, I am pretty famous, now I'm a stump for them to sit on."

Sam: "No, we're going to get your Manor back soon. We'll do everything we can to help." (He pats her shoulder.)

Lara: "Thanks, Sam." (Sam's phone is ringing and he checks it.)

Sam: "I gotta take this phone call outside, but don't give up, Lara."

Lara: "I won't." (Sam nodded and smiled. He went outside her apartment to answer it. Sully started to look down for a second.)

Sully: "Welp, I'm beat. Good night, dream lovers." (He laughed softly and went into a bedroom.)

Nathan: "Sully, that old man never changes."

Lara: "You're telling me. I'll be right back."

Nathan: "Alright." (Lara went into the bathroom to change and she got a text message and it says unknown.)

Lara: "Unknown?" (She texted "Who is this?" And the text replied "This is Elena. I want you to come over and visit me if that's okay with you." Lara was shocked at first, but then replied back. "Sounds wonderful. I'll be glad to see you." Elena replied back with a smiley face. "Perfect. I can't wait!" 😁 Lara goes to her home screen and the whole family appeared on the screen. She smiled and cuts it off. She was now finished getting in her pajamas and sat on the sofa to get on her laptop. She was looking at some research until emails popped up with negative comments about her being crazy and not being able to pay her bills. She also saw a link with a video about her Manor. Danny was explaining everything to the people and Lara was so furious, she shuts down her laptop and turned on the lamp. 5 minutes later, Sam came back inside and went to sleep. Lara was looking at her pictures and Nathan came in with his journal. He was writing about the past adventure that the family had with Francis and his adopted daughter then he closed his journal.)
