When I woke up the next morning, I sighed and took a breath of the fresh air coming in from the open window next to me. I had stayed at the Nurse's house last night. Her name was Susie, she told me on the drive home.

We had had a dinner at McDonald's, then came home and enjoyed ice cream while we watched movies. at around three, we had gone to bed.

Before I fell alseep that night, I took a pregnacy test she had bought me at the store. I looked down at it when it was ready, and, with pleasant thoughts in my head, fell asleep.

When I got up, I noticed smells, breakfast smells, coming from the kitchen.

I walked in there, and laughed when I saw her. She was struggling with a waffle. I went over and pressed a button on the waffle maker, opening up the mechanism. She laughed nervously and said, "Oops."

I laughed and finished the waffles as she cut up fruit and put it into bowls. "I love cooking," I said to start a conversation. She smiled at me and said, "Well then I guess I'll just have to kidknap you so you can cook for me, because I suck at it." I started at the word kidknap, but quickly hid it.

"It's something I learned from my mom," I told her. She smiled and said, "My mom wasn't really there." I looked at her with sympathy, and she shrugged it off. "so, how long are you planning on staying here,'' she asked me.

I thought about it, and said, "well, could I use your phone?" A plan was forming in my mind, and I needed it to succeed. "Sure," she said, handing me a touch screen. I took it, and went to the other room. I dialed a random number, then hung up, before it could ring, that way she had it in her call records.

I faked a conversation, and then went back into the kitchen. "Do you mind giving me a ride back to those woods," I said. She shook her head, and I said, "That's where my friends are meeting me. They said in an hour would be fine."

She nodded, and said, "I hope you stay out of trouble from now on!" I laughed, and said, "Of course I will, I'll be very careful now." She smiled, relieved, and said, "well, would you like to take a shower," She asked me.

I nodded, and did so. When I got out, I got into my clothes. They were the same ones she gave me at the hospital, and when I walked out of the bathroom, she said, " No no no, I have something better for you." She pulled out a black dress, and handed it to me.

It was really short, ending mid thigh, and it was see through, so it had a black mini dress under it. I twirled when I walked back into the room, and she smiled."It's great on you!" She said. "I could never wear it, because I don't have the breasts to fill it"

I laughed and said, "trust me, you're lucky. They get in the way sometimes." She laughed and we got into her car. she drove me back to the woods, and when I got there, I thanked her and gave her a small hug. "I'll come see you, when I can," I said to her.

She smiled at me and told me she'd love that, then left. I hung around for a minute, then turned towards the woods. I stumbled into them, and walked for hours. eventually, the sun started to go down, and I was lost. "Derek!" I called out.

I walked for more time than I can count, and yelled out random names I knew. "Derek! Jared! Destiny! Caleb!" Nonody answered, of course. I finally, finally, stopped to rest. I ate a small apple I had with me, then got up again. I walked until dawn, when I couldn't take it anymore.

I lay down, and fell asleep, dreams of unease and loss clouding my head.

                                                          DEREK'S POINT OF VIEW

The sun slanted in through the window I had just added to my small home, and I smiled. Chris would like this. She would be happy to have some sunlight in her life. I sighed and continued reorganizing. The one roomed house could have no more room, but with the bed on the other side of the wall, it looked nicer.

I leaned against the wall, and slowly slid down. I missed her so much, that I felt like a traitor. I was supposed to be hard, supposed to be the one she feared. Yet in a way, I feared her. I feared her because ulike anyone else, she had the power to hurt me. Which she had already done.

I sat there, lost in my thoughts, for hours, until I heard footsteps outside. Somebody knocked, but I ignored it. I didn't want to see anybody. I heard a loud sigh, and then the door opened, and Jared stepped in. "What do you want," I growled.

He stepped closer to me and closed the door behind him. He came over and sat down beside me, then said, "I wanted to check on my big brother. I miss you. The old you." I snorted, and sneered, "What does that mean?"

He looked over at me and said, "The carefree you, the one who doesn't care, who can smile with no worries." I sighed nd looked ahead. After a while, he said, "I'll hunt her down and bring her back, if it'll make you smile again." I looked over at him and said, "Bro, I'm not sure if seeing the hurt and neglect I give her pass through her eyes will make me smile. She wasn't happy here, I don't think. She loved me, as I do her, but she wasn't happy HERE, with these people. She wants a happy home, one where we can live like everyone else. Maybe even start a family."

He laughed, and said, "Well of course she does. She's a teenage girl, with the responsibilities of a thirty year old on her shoulders."

I shook my head and got up. I let him follow me outside, and he said, "Let's go for a walk." I shrugged, not really caring. We walked towards the village, but as the sound of voices reached us, he turned and we walked out into the wilderness.

We walked and talked about stupid, useless things for a couple hours. "So, why didn't you find anybody," I asked. "You were gone for a long time." He nodded, and said, "I don't now, none of my options seemed right. Didn't feel any certain.... Desire towards them."

I nodded. I could understand that. We walked in silence for a while longer, then a cry broke through the quiet trees. "Derek! Caleb! Destiny! Jared! Somebody!" I stopped, and listened as the voice named off the screams.

"Christina!" I called back, and took off running. I ran with an adrenaline I had never before experienced, fuled by my want. Why was she back in the woods? Had she come back, or never left in the first place?

No, Dad had said he saw her leave with a cop. He saw her. So why was she back? I pushed through a branch, and saw her. She stood there, in a torn black dress, looking as angelic as ever. "Chris," I sighed, just as Jared broke through the trees behind me.

She looked at me, then smiled. She went to take a step, and fell. I laughed like a madman, and went to her. I helped her up, and she leaned into me. "I came back for you," She said to me. I looked down at her, and said, "why?" She leaned up onto her tiptoes and kissed me. making me forget Jared was here.

I placed my hands on her hips, and lifted her slightly. She sighed into my lips, and I held her tighter. After a moment she broke away, and said, "Because you're the only one that can do that and take my breath away." I looked down at her, and gently kissed her on her forehead.

Jared cleared his throat, and Chris seemed to notice him for the first time. "Oh. Hi," She said, her cheeks flaming red. Jared laughed and waved, then took a step towards her and grabbed a strip of her hair. "How long have you been out here," He asked, dropping the hair.
