So here is the original first chapter. I had to move it as it comes after the last one. Sorry if it confused you but please enjoy. I have been dying to write this scene.

Rowan and Gavriel nearly took the doors of their hinges as they rushed into the nursery. Lysandra glanced up from where she sat beside Aelin. Aedion had Elentiya sat in his lap.

The two warriors scanned the room and then slid to their knees, realising there wasn't an actual threat. Aelin chuckled.

"What is it?" Rowan asked.

"Elentiya can now say two words," Aelin told him.

Last week their daughter had said their first word: fae. It had been the easiest word for Elentiya to say as it only had one syllable, and all week long Aelin had been teaching her other words.

"You dragged me here for this?" Gavriel said, from where he sat next to Aedion.

"Well, you are her great uncle," Aelin pointed out.

"Say it again," Lysandra encouraged. She pointed at her husband, "That's Aedion. I'm Lysandra. That's mummy. That's daddy. Who's this?" She asked, pointing at Gavriel.

Elentiya looked at Gavriel, her face scrunched up. She reached out her tiny arms towards him "Kitty-cat," Elentiya giggled.

Rowan roared with laughter. They all looked at Gavriel who was glaring at Aelin.

"You did not," the lion growled.

"Kitty-cat," Elentiya repeated, still reaching for him.

Aelin couldn't help her laughter as Lysandra fell backwards in a fit of giggles.

"I specifically remember asking you not to teach her that," Gavriel's own frown fading.

"It just slipped out," Aelin confessed. "I called you Uncle kitty-cat in front of her and she said 'cat'." Aelin shrugged, "I had to try."

Elentiya's chin wobbled as she continued to reach for Gavriel. Aedion passed her to his father. Elentiya immediately giggled. "Kitty-cat," she said again.

"I'm going to kill you for this," Gavriel warned her.

Aelin rolled her eyes. "I'm your Queen."

Gavriel nodded. "I'm going to kill you for this, Majesty."

"I look forward to it," Aelin grinned.

Every single frustrating second that Aelin had spent coaxing her daughter to say it had been well worth it.
