Decades Dance

"Please sign here and here." Elena and I were finishing up the contract to the Salvatore house.

"So this place is all your guys'? They just gave it to you two?" Bonnie asked as Elena and I signed where we needed to.

"For now." I answered.

"As sole owners, We're the only ones who can invite a certain type of person in here, if you know what I mean." Elena explained.

"Your own personal safe house."

"That's the idea." I said.

"Wouldn't want to clean it." Bonnie said and we laughed.

When we finished up, we thanked the man and he left. Stefan and Damon were stuck at the doorway.

"I'm sorry. I completely forgot. Stefan. Would you like to come inside my house?" Elena smiled.

"I would love to. Thank you." Stefan said and walked in.

Elena and I looked at each other then at Damon.

"What are we, 12?" He asked.

"One of us is." Elena answered. "If we let you in, do you promise to obey the owners of this house?" She asked.

"You're taking her side?" Damon asked me.

"Seriously, Damon." I said.

"Yes, Elena. Sure." He whispered.

"Then, Damon, come in." I smirked but he walked right passed us.

Bonnie came over handing us our jackets.

"Wait, where are you guys going?" Stefan asked.

"To school." Elena answered.

"No, no, no, we didn't create a safe house for you to leave it." Damon said.

"Yea, guys, Klaus is out there. We know that." Stefan added.

"Right. But where? No one knows. Look, I really appreciate what you guys are doing. And I'll be able to sleep at night knowing that we'll be safe here, but we're not going to be a prisoner." I said.

"My way, remember?" Elena asked.

"You're way, Elena." Damon said annoyed.

"Don't worry, I'm ready. If he shows his face I can take him." Bonnie said. "I know how."

"The way I see it, next to Bonnie is the safest place that we can be." Elena said. I nodded and we grabbed Bonnie's hand. "Come on."

"Wait. I'm coming." Stefan said.

"Hello, class." Alaric said walking into the room and to his desk. "What are we learning today?" He asked flipping through the book.

"With the decade dance tonight, we've been covering the sixties all week." Dana, a classmate, said.

"Right. The sixties." He paused. "The, uh, the sixties." He wrote on the board. "I wish there was something good I could say about the sixties, but... actually, they kinda sucked. Except for The Beatles, of course. They made it bearable. Uh, what else was there? The Cuban missile thing, the walk on the moon. The watergate."

"Watergate was the seventies, Ric." I said. Everyone looked towards me. I shook my head. "I mean, Mr. Saltzman."

"Right. I'm all kind of mushes together up here, the sixties l, seventies. But, thank you, Ellie."
