3rd Person POV

Cory stayed in his room even more, if that was even possible. He wouldn't even leave it for school. Frisk would bring him his homework and slide it under the door. The next day it would be slid back and filled out. Frisk and the others grew worried. He wouldn't even eat. Cory's childhood wasn't the best. And adding this to the list of terrible things that's happened to him doesn't help at all.

Cory's parents weren't the most...supportive. They wouldn't allow him to have much fun and only allowed him to participate in activities that would benefit themselves. Cory didn't really feel emotions like happiness, excitement. Only anger, sadness and envy. He was jealous the other kids were able to have fun, to be free. Unlike him. Who was trapped in his parents wishes. He couldn't escape them...that's why he went to the mountain. But plans changed when Frisk decided to go with him. At the time Cory was annoyed that the red head insisted on going with him but later...grew to be thankful. Who knows how many innocent monsters he would have killed if she wasn't there to calm him...but let's not think of that. Cory always struggles to make friends due to the fact most of them thought he actually had a camera for a face, but it was just a mask he didn't liked to take off, a mask he still doesn't like to take off. He's self conscious which Frisk believes is unnecessary. Every now and the she'll be able to convince him to take it off but it's rare. He rarely shows any emotion in public, but when he's with Frisk it's like he's a different person. He acts more positive, more...alive. But sometimes he's gets frustrated with himself since he feels like he's putting up an act when he's around Frisk. He feels like he's only acting so she won't worry. But he doesn't let anyone see that. No one knows, no ones suspected anything. Not in a whole at least. And he wants it to stay that way. He's always felt as though keeping his emotions bottled up is the best way to handle them, but he was wrong. It only hurt him more.

But that was before he and Frisk became friends. When they became friends everything changed. She made him feel important. The two met in sixth grade, but didn't always appreciate each other's company...

~~FLAAAAAAAAAASSSHBAAAAAAACK~~

It was the first day of school. As the red head girl walked down the hall way at school, she was slightly pushed to the side and looked over to see a boy with his hood up past.
"Rude." She muttered to herself and continued to walk to class. As she entered the class the same boy was there.
"Cory hoods off." The teacher said sternly. He went over to her and handed her a note. She sighed and nodded, "Okay class, today I will assign seats," The teacher announced, "Cory, Shelby you two will sit here." She said motioning to two seats by the window.
Shelby went over and sat down, and Cory sat next to her. Not a single interaction was made between the two students for the whole class.

~~~
The two exchanged glares in the halls-
("But author-chan Frisk is a nice bean-" "mah book, my personalities *mlg swag*")
-as they saw each other, yet didn't say a word. They continued to head in opposite directions.
~~~

Cory walked through the halls ignoring everything and everyone. Murmurs and whispers could be heard about him.
"What's his deal?" A boy asked.
"I don't know...he's acting kinda strange." Another student said.

(SEnPAi Is ThAT YoU-)

Shelby heard and felt slightly sympathetic for the boy. She never liked the idea of talking behind others backs. Cautiously she headed over to him. She tapped his shoulder and when he turned around she smiled.
"Hi!" She chirped, ignoring the fact his face looked like a camera. As her mother always said "never judge a book by it's cover." Cliché, but it's a rule everyone should follow.
    "Uh...hi." Cory said somewhat unsure. "Why the hell is she talking to me, does she want a bad reputation?" He thought.
    "Cory, right?" She asked.
    "Yeah...Shelby is it?" He asked. "Might as well be nice." He thought.
    "Mhm."
     The two talked causing students to look at them.
     "Is she actually talking to that freak?" Asked a girl.
     "I think so..." Replied another student. "well whatever, they can be weirdoes together."
     Cory and Shelby heard these remarks but ignored them. As the bell rang the two headed off to their next class.
     "She isn't that's bad..." Cory thought.

~~FLAAAAAAASHBAAAAAACK over~~

Every since then the two got along more and more. They became friends and Cory learned the meaning of the word happiness.
