I'm not particularly glad with this chapter, but here it is... BEFORE YOU READ, I want to ask/tell you one thing: Okay, so usually whenever I'm in different moods, I write different scenarios/little story parts. They are filled with emotion and I kinda wanna share it with you guys... So should I make a different story and just have it filled with the different mini-stories I write? Would you guys be interested in that? Please tell me in the comments below... And now, here is the chapter. PLEASE tell me what you think about it! ROMANCE AND THINGS ARE COMING VERRRYYY soon, like reallly soon. :)))))))) Don't forget to tell me what you think, vote, and fan!

& sorry for any grammar mistakes... I didn't reread yet.

Chapter 10

                   Trip Day

Kelsey’s fingers tapped the steering wheel with the beat of the music. We were driving to Blue Hills which was where we would be camping and hiking. The air conditioning in the car was on full blast. Outside, the mid-August sun made a lot of sunshine, adding the heat up to be a sizzling 98 degrees Fahrenheit. I wore a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and worn out tennis sneakers. After two hours of driving, we finally arrived at the hiking/camping trail. My legs felt tired and I didn’t feel like hiking those seven miles, let alone getting out of the car and into the scorching heat.

“Move your butt,” Kelsey said, opening my door. Sighing, I stepped out and followed Kelsey to the car’s trunk. She handed me my heavy forty pound bag that was filled with things we’d need for the hiking and camping trip. I secured the straps of the backpack on my shoulders and slowly followed behind Kelsey. The smell of honeysuckle drifted in the air and the intoxicated city air was long gone.

“This’ll be a great experience! No civilization!” she said as we started into the woods.

“Yeah…” I said.

“Show some more enthusiasm! This’ll be amazing!” Kelsey said.

But it was hard to show “more enthusiasm” when, a.) I was hiking in about 100 degrees! b.) I’m blind and c.) There’ll probably be a lot of bugs.

I felt something tickly and pointy on my arm, slowly walking up. My breath hitched in my throat before a strangled cry came out. “Get it off! Get it off!” I yelped, flapping my arms in the air violently.

“Hold still!” Kelsey said. I squeezed my eyes shut as Kelsey slowly picked up the bug and placed in the floor. “There you go, little fella.” She said to the bug.

I ran my hands over my arms in case any other bugs were on it, and thankfully, no bugs remained there. “I hate bugs.” I muttered as I took a sip of water.

“Well, you better stop hating them because bugs are going to be your new best friend for the next day!”

I groaned in response. “Anyway, how many more miles do we have to go? We’ve been hiking for hours!” “You’re lucky. Only four more miles to go.”

“Let’s take a break. “ I said, sitting on a rock. Kelsey agreed and asked me if I wanted an energy bar. “No thanks, I’m having a candy bar.” I said, digging into my pocket. I was looking forward to feeling the candy bar being a solid, but instead my hand met something gooey and melted. Kelsey let out a laugh when I held out my now melted candy bar. A frown tugged at my lips as I said, “I guess I’ll eat an energy bar…”
