Mason lives on a farm in the country town of Summerville. Mason is fourteen years old and plays basseball on a 14 U Majors select team. We were preparing to play in The World Series in a couple of months.  Pretty much the whole town revolves around baseball.  There is one kid on his team that is mean to everyone and is not a team player.  His name is Eddy.  He is all about himself.  His parents can't even control him.  He talks back to the coach, he curses all his team mates and the referees. Eddy is bringing the team down and that is not going to help them win The World Series.  Someone needs to put him in his place but everyone is scared of him. He has been in many fights and has beat down kids pretty bad for disagreeing with him.  Mason, along with the other team mates really wants Eddy off the team.  Not to mention the fact that he is an athiest and he does not believe in God.  But there is just one problem, he is the best on their team.  He can hit the ball like a rocket has been shot out of a cannon and he can field the ball like no ones business.  He is also the ace pitcher of the team.   There has always been a myth in the town of Summerville that if you can throw a baseball in the well and it hits the hole inside of the well then the Goddess of Baseball will appear and grant you three baseball wishes.  This was known to have happened to three other people. They were hoping it would happen to them because they knew what their three wishes would be.

The Godess of baseball is very tall, strong, and a true christian man.   Its name is known to be Bonus Eventus of Baseball meaning the God of good success. He is very old and wise and a very generous man.  It has been told that he played ball with the pros back many many years ago and that he threw his arm out pitching.  His master helped him through this trying process and that he finished up his career throwing a ball over 150 mph.  So now he returns the favors and does good deed for troubled teens who love the game of baseball. The Godess is known to be a very wise man full of knowledge about baseball. He wants the best for everyone and tries to change evil to success. He is known to change peoples mind and help them do the right thing.

Nick was Mason's best friend and every afternoon they would go to the Zimmermans well hoping to achieve their goal because they knew what they would wish for.  After many attempts of throwing the baseball into the well they could not believe it, Mason had heard it land just in the right spot.  All of a sudden the clouds were thick and the sun got very bright and there was a very loud noise and appears out of no where was the Godess of Baseball or so we thought.  He looked just like we had been told.  His eyes shined like a set of diamonds.  They were sparkling in the light.  His first words out of his mouth were, "what wish shall I grant you?"  He also said you get three wishes and I will grant them one at a time.  Bonus Eventus told me before he would grant the wishes that I must go home and think about my wishes and sleep on the decisions I made and come back the next day .  Mason was mad because he already knew what he wanted to wish for but The Godess would not listen until Mason went home and thought about them long and hard.
