PART 1::the wicked witch but tanner.
***
We watched in awe as he stretched his arms above his head, a move he often made before standing up onto his feet to leave.
“No” I complained sipping the last of my juice from my mini juice box, as I did everyday when I watched for him.
Well I didn’t exactly watch for him…that makes me sound like a stalker or a creeper. I’m not either, I just can’t help it. He was fun to look at.
“You know if you keep staring he’s gonna look over here and see you?!” Stephanie said, irritated.
“I’m not…staring. Just admiring from afar,” I admitted, smiling around my words.
I couldn’t help but smile whenever I talked about him. He was just so adorable. He had that bad boy aura but at the same time he was so cute. I dreamed of the day we would talk, but I knew it was just a fantasy that would never become a reality.
“He’s just too beautiful. Its not fair that he’s with…her” I said not realizing I had said it out loud.
My hands flew to my mouth, “oh my god” I cried around my hands, “I really just said that out loud…ughhh kill me”. I crossed my arms on top of the table and my head fell on top of my arms.
It just didn’t seem fair that someone as cute as him had to be stuck with someone like her. She was like the wicked witch of the west, but tanner. She was the fakest girl I knew that belonged to this school. I swear she drew her eyebrows on every day before she came to school. She probably had to get up hours before she left for school just to put her whole face on.
She was the Regina George of Kinsley High. The Tanner Wicked witch.
I picked my head up and tucked the flyaway hairs behind my ear. I picked at the edges of my nails and then looked up at Stephanie.
“I’m gonna do it” I said with unwavering confidence.
“Do what?” Stephanie asked
“Talk to him” I stated as I finished my juice and threw it down onto the tray. I grinned and got up and made my way for the door.
