Once everybody was awake, we all had breakfast together in the dining room.

"Mom, I know it's your first day at home, but can I go out today? I haven't seen my friends for quite a while now," I said.

My mom looked at my dad. My dad nodded.

"Yeah, you can go ahead, you've done well on taking care of the kids. You deserve it," said Dad.

"Yes! Thank you Dad!" I said, hugging him.

I texted my friends and told them that we could hang out today.

Later that day, Stephanie picked me up and we went out to the mall with Rachel.

"Finally! You're free Em!" said Stephanie.

"Yeah, it's been a hell of a long week," I said.

"I heard about what happened to your mom. Is she alright?" asked Rachel.

"Yeah, she's getting better, but you should've seen her that night. When she had the accident. It was so bad that I thought that she might've died," I said.

"Oh my god, you must've been so scared," said Rachel.

"Yeah, I was. But the kids were even more scared," I said, thinking about that night at the hospital.

"Awww...Poor guys," said Stephanie.

"Anyways, how're things between you and your boyfriends?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Everything's fine," said Stephanie.

"Oh did you hear about Markus? People's saying that he's gay. Some of the ladies posted him with some other guy on Instagram," said Rachel.

"Whoa, really? Markus is gay?" I said.

"Yeah, everyone was surprised when they found out," said Rachel.

"Hey, let's stop buy here," said Stephanie, pointing at a store filled with baby clothes.

"Why do you want to stop here?" I asked.

"Let's find some cute baby clothes for your siblings," she said.

"Oh, look at this one," said Rachel, pointing to a pink cute dress with a bow on the front.

"Ooh, this one's adorable," said Stephanie, looking at a biker costume for baby boys.

"My parents wouldn't want my baby brother to wear that. It would scare the hell out of them," I said, "and I don't want my baby brother to turn into a gangster when he grows up."

"Relax, Em, he's just a baby. He won't care about those stuff anyways," said Stephanie.

"Yeah, come on Em. Buy your little siblings some fashionable clothes. Other babies would be so jealous of them," said Rachel.

I smiled.

Stephanie and Rachel kept on searching for little baby clothes. They picked three out, one for each baby.

"Alright, I'll pay for them," I said.

I gave the cashier the money and the person put the clothes in the bag.

"Next, we're going to buy some shoes that I heard were the best in the world!" said Stephanie.

"Come on. Follow me!" she said.

We followed her into a shoe store.

"Look at those pretty heels!" said Stephanie.

"Try them on," said Rachel.

Stephanie put them on.

"Uhhhh...it looks okay," said Rachel.

"What do you think Em?" asked Stephanie.

"Ugh, it doesn't look too good on you," I said.

"Really?" asked Stephanie, glancing down at her feet.

"Yeah, maybe you should go try this one," I said, handing her a pair of red heels.

She tried it on.

"Uhmm...you're right it really does look good on her," said Rachel.

Stephanie went to the mirror and looked at the red heels.

"It looks hot on you," said Rachel.

"Wow, look at these," I said, grabbing a pair of white heels.

"Yeah, those are cute," said Rachel.

I put them on and walked around with them.

"Uhm, it's comfortable," I said.

"It also looks good on you," said Stephanie.

"I think I'm gonna buy it," I said.

The others kept on searching for more shoes, while I paid for mine.

After that, we went to the food court, to eat.

We ordered our food and found a table.

"Hey do you guys want to sleep over at my house, this week?" asked Rachel, "My parents are going out of town, so the house is all to myself."

"Great! Let's have a party!" said Stephanie.

"No, we can't, because my aunt's coming to visit over the week," said Rachel.

"What? I thought you said the house will be all to yourself?" said Stephanie.

"Well, yeah it will be because I'm the one who owns the house and can invite my friends to sleep over, but technically there will be a grown-up there," said Rachel.

"Ugh, fine. We'll still sleep over," said Stephanie.

"What about you Em? Do you want to sleep over at my place?" asked Rachel.

"Uhm, I'm gonna have to ask my parents first," I said.

"That's great, later you ask them and then I'll pick you up," said Rachel.

"Okay, cool," I said.

We continued to talk for a long time, until our food arrived.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom guys," I said, after I ate my food.

"Okay," they said.

On my way to the bathroom, I bumped into Amber, Tom's ex-girlfriend.

"Emily!" said Amber, kindly, "Nice meeting you here."

"Amber? I thought you were out of town this week," I said.

"Yeah, I was, but I just came back," she said, "How're you doing?"

"I'm fine," I said, rudely, remembering about her dumping Tom.

"How's Tom?" she asked, quietly.

"Why did you break up with him?" I asked angrily.

"I'm sorry," said Amber, sincerely, "I just found another guy whose a little better than Tom."

"You're sorry!?" I shouted, "My brother's broken-hearted. He locks himself in his room most of the time. He's not showing it but I can tell that he's sad."
