"Here you go, Derpy." Rick placed one last potted plant on the ground surrounding the house. Derpy, as it turned out, loved taking care of plants. So, naturally, Rick bought him two small trees, twenty eight flowers, and a blueberry bush. And a watering can.

"Th-Thank you." The wall eyed Morty picked up his watering can and waddled around, pouring water on plants as he went, head tilted so he could see them. Occasionally, he'd bend down to pull a weed or examine a flower closely.

He was so cute that Rick didn't notice when a portal opened up behind him. Someone tapped him on the shoulder and looked to see another version of himself. The other Rick pushed his glasses further up his nose and consulted a clipboard. "You the one that keeps the rejects?"

"The what?"

Ignoring Rick's question, Glasses looked around him at Derpy and nodded. "Yep. I got five more for you, left them in the living room." He marked something down on his clipboard and stuck his pen behind ear. Some kind of mechanical augmentation activated, slim metal clips folding out from behind his ear and holding the pen in place.

"Five? Five what? What are you talking about?" Rick tried to get something else from Glasses, but the Rick turned and left through the still-open portal.

The living room? Glancing one last time at Derpy, making sure he was still okay, Rick walked to the front door and went back inside, stopping short at the sight of five Mortys sitting together in a circle on the floor.

"You the one that keeps the rejects?"

Looking at the boys, Rick suddenly realized that by 'rejects' the other Rick had meant 'Mortys'. What was so wrong with them that no one else would take them? He went to them and got down on his knees to be at their eye level.

Five pairs of dark brown eyes turned to him and he said, as gently as he could, "So, wh-what's wrong with you guys?"

One of the Mortys started to stutter, "N-N-N-No-Noth-N-No-N-Noth-No-N-N-N-N-" and Rick realized why they'd been dropped in his living room. While the Morty continued to try and say a single word, Rick pulled the boy into his lap and held him close. Finally, the Morty managed to say, "Nothing," and Rick nodded.

"Yeah, baby. Sorry. There's nothing wrong with you at all."

All five of the stuttering Mortys, named S, T, U, E and R, sat at the table for breakfast, alongside Chubs and Derpy.

"Here ya go, sweethearts!" Rick came from the kitchen in an apron that read 'suck my d__k', with both arms loaded with plates. He put one in front of each Morty and the boys all made noises of appreciation.

Beth, Summer, and Jerry all stood by uncertainly, seatless thanks to the Mortys and foodless thanks to Rick not bothering to cook for them too. Ignoring the rest of his family, Rick walked around the table, giving each Morty a kiss on the top of the head. A chorus of happy laughs rose up and Rick grinned.

Beth shifted, jealous. "Um... Wow, Dad. I wasn't aware that you could be so... Affectionate."

"What do you mean?" Rick gently cleaned Derpy's face and took the boy's fork, feeding him scrambled eggs.

"Well, just..." Beth seemed reluctant to continue.

Summer blew a bubble with her gum and it popped loudly. "She's jealous cuz' you love Morty way more than you love her."

Rick shrugged. "Oh. Alright." He kissed Derpy on the forehead and went to the kitchen, coming back with a pan of scrambled eggs and starting to refill plates for the ones that were still hungry.

Beth fled from the room, Jerry following uncertainly after. Summer walked into the kitchen and ate what Rick had left, coming back out to take the pan of eggs from his hands when the Mortys were fed.

Once they were done eating, the Mortys all ran off (Chubby Morty rolled), leaving Rick to clean the plates. He didn't mind though. He cleaned the plates in the sink, muttering a thanks to Summer when she put all the other scattered cooking tools in as well. In the living room, the stuttering Mortys could be heard trying to talk.

Rick decided he'd teach them sign language later.
