It had been 4 years since he found out about his powers and only once had he used his them and that had led to his Dad's health problem and since then he had sworn off using them. His raw, untapped power lay dormant in his veins.

John got ready for another dreadful day of school. John slung his backpack over his left shoulder and headed to the garage and picked up his leather jacket from the rack and hopped onto his 2013 Ducati Hypermotard. He opened the garage door and sped out as soon as he had enough space. John loved the wind whipping in his hair. In a few minutes he had reached the school and parked his bike.

John got off the bike, unzipped his jacket and headed for his locker. On the way, he saw her. The 'her' in this matter was, of course, Kayleigh Smith. She was, by John's way of seeing it, the most beautiful girl in the school. She curves at the right places, her eyes were a breathtaking blue, her face looked like the very image of perfect. Her beauty was astounding and if John wasn't so love-struck he would have noticed that her beauty was unnatural. It was not human. Once he was done staring, he reached his locker and grabbed his books and walked toward his Business Studies class.

John:

School was over and I was walking home when I heard a high-pitched voice ring in his ears and ran toward it and a saw a man about his age. The man raised his weapon, ready to strike her heart.

"Hey!!!" John shouted.

The man turned around. He was wearing a red hockey mask. He said it was like he was staring right at his soul. The man teleported right in front of me. He took out a blade and drove it toward my stomach, but upon instinct, I grabbed the knife with his one hand and punched him with the other, sending him flying. I looked at his fists. They were glowing, a red-orange colour, like lava. I looked at the man and there was lava burning through his mask revealing his face. This man wasn't a man at all, it was... a beast. It had tusks protruding from it's foaming mouth, it had huge nostrils covering most of it's face and it's eyes were completely black. I looked at the woman, she was cowering behind the dumpster. I stepped closer my hands were up to show that I wasn't going to hurt her, then all of a sudden I realized that it was Kayleigh. I gently caressed her face and watched her crying and silently wished I could do something to help her. I gently picked her up bridal style and she lay her gentle head on his shoulder. I got up and started walking back home and after a few minutes, Kayleigh fell asleep in his arms.

I looked up at my bedroom window, it was open, on the second floor and wondered how to get up there without my parents noticing. I suddenly remembered what my dad had said to me years earlier, four to be exact.

'You have a limited array of powers...'

I felt stupid for even trying this. I willed myself to fly and then looked down at my feet, they were hovering a few feet above the ground.

It worked!

I willed myself higher and higher until I reached the window and flew through the window sil. My feet set foot on solid ground, and lay Kayleigh down on his bed. I went into my bathroom and wet my face cloth with hot water and wrung the face cloth. I went back to Kayleigh and tended to her wounds, nothing major just little cuts and bruises. She had a red hand print on her arm, indicating she put up a fight. Her back sustained a lot of pain, I guessed that thing pushed her against the wall and was just about to strike her in the heart when he arrived. I thought to when I punched the monster. I had sent it flying. My thoughts were interrupted when Kayleigh shifted in his bed.

"Where am I" she said as she yawned.

I told her everything up to the current moment, excluding the monsters face and my powers.

"I remember he said 'at last, we found an Olympian,'" she said, "Anyway thanks, I'll give you my number and uh... call me."

She wrote down her number with a permanent marker, on my arm.

"Would you mind climbing down the window, my parents don't know you're here," as I said it, I turned red.

"How did u get me up here then?"

"I... uh... I flew," I mumbled.

"You what?" She asked.

"I know it's hard to believe, but.... never mind. Just forget everything I said."

'No, I believe you' she whispered in my mind.

I stared deep into her eyes in amazement. The more I looked, though, the more I saw. Her triumphs, her joys, her sorrows. I knew she saw the same with me. We connected so much.

Her eyes were teary, having seen my sorrows and reminded of hers. I tried to comfort her by letting her cry on my shoulder but she wouldn't have it. She looked straight into my eyes and I knew what she wanted.

Slowly our lips touched and it was electric. I wanted to push her against the wall and let her wrap her legs around me and kiss her passionately, but then my dad tried to open the door, thank God it was locked.

"Son, are you in there? I heard a noise," he shouted. After that, he had a coughing fit.

Kayleigh ran and locked herself in the bathroom.

"Yeah, I'm here dad!" I shouted back.

"Ok, good," his dad said and walked away.

Kayleigh came out of the bathroom.

'Holy Shit that was close' she said telepathically.

"We need to talk about what just happened." I said.

'What, your dad checked up on you, that's very sweet of him' Kayleigh responded telepathically.

'Ok, ignore the situation' he said, surprisingly, telepathically.

"Fine," she said out loud and she jumped out of the window and flew off.
