What Lies Beyond: The Heart

Chapter 1

*Ski's POV*

It all started with a letter. A letter that shattered my fragile heart into a million pieces.

This is my story.....

It all started at a back to school party, I seen the most meserizing girl ever! Her eyes looked like stars dancing in the lights. We locked eyes and that was when I was hooked,she stole my heart that moment. I walked up to her, she gave me the most beautiful angelic smile I've ever seen. Her rosy pink lips exposing her pearly white teeth. I felt an electric shock go through my body, there was no way I could fight this urge anymore!

I grabbed her hand and whispered in her ear "will you dance with me?" She bit her lip teasingly while nodding yes. I tugged her to the dance floor, I put my hands on her hips, pulling her closer while she gave me a seductive smirk. We danced.... It felt like an eternity, she breathed in my ear "I'm tired let's take this upstairs!" Without a response she grabs my arm, leading me upstairs into a room.

Once the door shuts she attacks me with kisses like a hungry lion. She's devouring them with her monstrous appetite! As I finally break free she pushes me onto the bed, jumps on me and starts roughly kissing me again. The door suddenly busted open, we jumped away from each other. A guy walks in, he gets wide eyed and quickly apologized. We stare at each other for a quick moment then looked away with a blush warming our cheeks.

I get up "wanna get a drink?" while holding out my hand. She gives her angelic smile again and grabs my hand. We head down stairs to the noisy room, leaving behind the most blissful moment we had. I led her to the drink station, we grabbed some drinks and headed to back to the dance floor to dance the night away!

*Mella's POV*

As we're walking away from the party, the cold deathly air surrounding us The crisp clear moon hanging in the sky, clouds illuminated as they pass by. I invited her to my apartment, it surprised me when there was no hesitation in her response. My happiness was rising, in a split second my phone started ringing then i heard footsteps behind us. Im praying it's not who i think it is, I started running in terror without thinking! I ran until my legs felt like giving out under me. Dropping to my knees everything was a blur, I look around to see where i am. She is no longer here with me, my angel has left me. I pulled out my phone to call her, remembering i didn't get her number. I see a flashing light stating I have a voicemail.....

*VoiceMail*

"I need to speak to Melanie Bello it's urgent. Your parents have been in a car wreck, they're in critical condition! Get here as soon as possible!"

Hearing those words left my body weak, strength left my body leaving me empty and cold. My parents can't leave me alone in this sinful, cruel cold world. What am I supposed to do without them? How can life be damned? I get up, looking at the sky, asking have I been forsaken? Heading to the hospital praying that their spared from this terrible tragedy. As I finally reached this dreadful hospital, still petrified of the news i'll be getting. I walk in like a corpse, I walked up to the counter " I'm Melanie Bello where are my parents?" "They're in room 203 go down the hall then make a right, it'll be the third door on the left."

I hurried to their room, I swung the door open. A nurse turns, looks my way, pushes me out the room saying to wait out in the hall. I ran to the front counter demanding to know what's going on. "Settle down, go in the waiting room the doctor will be with you shortly" replied the nurse in a calmly low key tone. I paced back and forth so much leaving a trail behind me. A short elderly women appears in front of me sending a wave of panic through my body. Her sweet spoken tone gave me the most horrifying news!

I sat on a bench while memories of my parents play through my dangerous mind. All the unspoken words,all the warm hugs and kisses that will never be given again, the feelings that won't be reached anymore. My world just became a dull color, lifeless.

Walking home to a place that suddenly feels empty like a void of darkness. I unlocked the door to see a note, as I shut the door I read the note.

*Note*

"Mella sorry we had to leave before you get home, but mom had to go to her chemotherapy appointment.

Love Dad"

Holding the note close to me, sliding down the wall. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore, I weeped until I couldn't shed another tear. Went to shower, everything just felt so cold and sad, I can't stand being here any longer. I got dressed as fast as I could, went to school. I sat on a bench, made a quick poster and thumb tacked it on the student board.
