When Y/N got out of the dentist office, I got a face time call from her, and I answered immediately. Her face pops up on my screen and I coo at her. It's obvious the right side of her face is numb and she sighs.
"I'm a wimp."
"No comment." Tobin says off screen and I sigh.
"You're not a wimp babe." I say and she whines. "You're just human." I say and she pouts.
"I miss you." She says and I smile at her.
"I miss you too."
"You should come visit."
"I wish I could baby. But I can't. You're not the only pro rookie." I say and she smiles.
"Heh, Heh, you're a rookie." She says and I sigh.
"How heavily drugged are you."
"Hey Tobs, my girlfriend's last name is a sound effect." She says to Tobin before giggling. "Pugh Pugh! Pugh pugh pugh!" She says before giggling again and I just smack my palm against my forehead.
"That's how heavily drugged she is, okay." I say to myself and shake my head. "Take care of my girlfriend for me, Tobin." I say before hanging up.

-The next day, at practice, Tobin smirks at me and I furrow my brow.
"What, Heath?" I ask and she tosses me her phone which is playing a video of me yesterday. "I hate you." I say and she chuckles.
"No you don't." She argues and I sigh because she's right. Fuckin love my big sister.

After about a month, Tobin had been out for three weeks with her back, and I was playing in her place, but today was an exciting one because we just landed in D.C. I get to see my baby and everybody hates me because I was so hype on the plane. Sonnet is keeping Kling away from me because she wants to punch me in the mouth. As we get to the hotel, I get a call, and answer it without looking at who is calling me.
"Hello?"
"I'm picking you up at eight and there's no saying no." Mal says before hanging up and I chuckle before laying down on the bed that hadn't been claimed yet. I hope the required attire is casual, because I don't own anything fancy. I'm a broke kid just out of college playing professional soccer. The team spends the day just relaxing until I get up and get ready to go, then everybody starts buzzing about this outing with my girlfriend. At eight, right on the tick, Mal walks into the lobby and over to me, holding her hand out to me, and I put my hand in hers, intertwining my fingers with hers as we head toward the exit until Kling cuts us off with Tobin on her phone in a FaceTime call, since she was in California for rehab. I miss my big sister.
"I want her back by 10." Tobin says and Mal nods. "Y/N, you be careful." She says and I nod. "Okay, You two can go now."
Once we're in the car, I turn to Mal.
"How'd you know where I was staying?" I ask and she smirks.
"I have my ways."
"So you just texted Tobin and asked."
"Yeah."
"My brave Knight facing the scary big sister." I say, laughing as Mal smacks my thigh gently.
"I will leave your ass on the side of the road."
"What about the rest of me?"
"I'm so done with your shit."
"No you're not." I say, taking Mal's right hand and kissing the back of it.
"Damn, you're right." She says as I set our hands in my lap.
"I'm not always right but I'm never wrong." I say and smile as Mal groans.
"Dad jokes? Really?"
"Yep. My father was a great mentor." I say and she sighs.
"At least you didn't say you were daddy." She says and I smirk.
"Nah, that's you." I say and she turns to me real quick with wide eyes.
"Babe!"
"I'm kidding." I say and she sighs. "Or am I?" I say and she grips the inside of my thigh, which I didn't expect so a little whimper escapes my lips, and I bite my lip as Mal looks over at me.
"What was that?" Mal taunts, and I smack her hand. "Ow. Okay." She says as we pull up to a cute little restaurant. And she tells me to stay put, so I do, watching as she runs around the car and opens my door for me.
"Oh you're too kind." I say as she helps me out of the car and she smiles at me, so I grab her jaw and kiss her quickly before letting her lead me into the restaurant. We're led to a table in the back immediately and as we sit and wait to be waited on, Mal continues to mess with my thighs.
"Mallory Pugh, I swear if you don't st-"
"Hello! Sorry about the wait! What can I get for you ladies tonight?" A girl that couldn't be more than 16 asks and I smile.
"I'll take a water." I say, smacking Mal's hand.
"I'll take a coke." Mal says and the teenager scurries off, blushing lightly and I turn to my girlfriend who smiles at me and just rests her hand on my thigh, so I sigh and intertwine our fingers. The little girl comes back a few minutes later and gives us our drinks with a smile.
"You're Mallory Pugh and Y/N Y/L/N, right?" She asks and we nod. "Oh my god, Okay, two things, you two are so cute together, and I'm also a huge fan of the both of you, PTFC all the way though." She says and I smile, holding out my free hand for a fist bump. "So like, could I get your autographs? But like once you're done eating I mean I-"
"Hey, don't worry about it, we can sign right now." I say and the girl smiles.
"I'll be right back!" She says before excitedly scurrying off and I smile because that would've been me if I ran into any of my teammates when I was 16. A moment later, she returns with two sharpies and four pieces of paper, I sign both without question, as does Mal, and she thanks us before putting that away and taking our food orders.
"So question." I say to the girl after we've ordered and she looks at me. "Two actually."
"Okay."
"Okay, first off, what's your name? And the next question is why two for each of us?"
"Frame one and contemplate tattoos of the other two." She says and I nod. "You're not freaked out?"
"If anything I'm honored." I say and look at Mal who shrugs.

After dinner, Mal pays, because dummy me forgot to pack my wallet, but I somehow managed to keep my ID with me. Don't ask how, I have no damn idea, and then Mal takes 'the long way' back to the hotel, which wasn't necessary because I was just going to invite her up to my room anyway because two hours with her is nowhere near enough for me. I wanted to cuddle my girlfriend for one night. Just one. That too much to ask?
"Come spend the night with me baby." I say and Mal sighs, so I take her hand and kiss her knuckles.
"Dammit. Fine." She says and I smile wide.
"Yes!" I say, getting out and walking with Mal into the hotel, and up to my room, which I was sharing with Emily, so as soon as she saw Mal, she said hi and then bye to leave us alone. She knew I was gonna kick her out anyway.

Emily
-On gameday Mal had been gone for a whole twenty four hours, so when I wake up and hear singing from the bathroom, I furrow my brow until my mind finally distinguishes the lyrics.
"Shall I stay? Would it be a sin? If I can't help falling in love with you. LIke a river flows, surely to the sea, darling so it goes, some things were meant to be. Take my hand, take my whole life too, cause I can't help falling in love with you." That's when I decide to pull out my phone and catch a brief snapchat, and go over to the bathroom door and lean against it, point my thumb at the door and record one snap of her singing, realizing now that she's got the shower on as well. "Like a river flows, surely to the sea, darling so it goes; some things were meant to be. Take my hand, take my whole life, too, cause I can't help falling in love with you." Okay, so it turned into two snaps, but I didn't want to cut her off, so once I'm satisfied, I save the snaps just to be safe, send them to Mal and then add them to my story, and then heading down to breakfast.

Mal
-As I was getting ready to head to the stadium just to be early, I get two video snaps from Emily, so I take a second to open them, smiling when I hear my girlfriend singing faintly, obviously behind the door Emily is pointing to and I chuckle, snapping her and telling me to text the videos to me and head out to the stadium, and just relax for a little bit until everyone starts showing up, and then I start getting ready.

Y/N
-As the bus pulls up to the stadium, I heave a heavy sigh, but lead the charge off of the bus and follow the lady that said she was gonna lead us to the locker room and head straight to my locker when we're in the locker room, and get dressed right a way, the faster I'm dressed, the faster I can go through with my pregame ritual of tying my cleats the way I do, wrap the laces around the bottom of my foot before tying the laces on top, I never leave the laces like that, but it's something I never fail to do. I leave them in until game time. Once my cleats are tied, I sit in my locker and listen to my pregame playlist until we're told to go out and warm up, I listen to the music that plays as we warm up and just focus on warming up, nothing else, not even Mal. Though she's doing the same thing I am, our jobs. We take the full warm up period to warm up, and then go back in, and that's when I tie my cleats correctly and give myself a prewrap headband. Once everyone was set, we waited to be called out to the tunnel. The starters anyway.

Tobin
-I sighed as I sat on the couch watching the game and listened closely when they were announcing the lineups.
"...and for the Portland Thorns we've got quite the athlete, from Baskin aridge New Jersey, standing at a whopping 5'5", weighing 138 pounds, Y/N Y/L/N. Number 16 and tonight's starting left midfielder. Tonight's different for this athlete though, because instead of her name on her jersey, she's wearing her teammate; Tobin Heath's last name to honor her injured teammate. Let's hope her folks aren't mad about that." The commentator says as the teams walk out of their tunnels and do the thing, where sure enough, I see Y/N wearing 'Heath' across the back of her shoulders with a 16 under it. Not gonna lie, it looks weird not being a 17, but hey. Little Sister is being all cute and sweet and shit, not gonna knock it. The teams get into their positions, and before that, the cute couple, Mal and Y/N hug each other before going to their positions and waiting for the refs to be ready. I just really hope Y/N plays well tonight. I've been training her hard after practices since she came from Huston so she could start a game, and the last thing I want for Y/N is her messing up something she's worked so hard for in such a short time. She deserves a win for how dedicated she's been to this team.
