I woke up early the next morning not ready to go to my social science class. I sighed and quickly got ready, not really caring what I looked like. I had no one to impress. Or so I thought.

I walked into the classroom and sat down, and as I glanced around the fairly large room, I did a double-take. Ian was sitting in the back with his feet propped up on the desk next to him. When did he get in this class? I cursed myself out in my mind, knowing my choice of appearance wasn't the best today. I tried to turn my attention to the front of the room just as my professor walked in. I swear to god if Ian noticed I was here looking like this, he would never talk to me again. I looked like a person addicted to cocaine for fuck's sake. My teacher, Professor Hudkin, began to speak.

"Welcome class. Today I'll be introducing you to a new project you'll be starting today."

I could hear almost all of the kids in the class groan in unison, knowing what the frustration and anxiety of doing a project does to you. Starting and Finishing this project is going to be painful. The professor continued.

"Yes,Yes. Very excruciatingly horrific. But I have something that might make it a little more bearable. You'll get to work on this with a partner!"

Quiet cheers erupted from the students, as people searched around for the possible partners they could work with.

"Of course, I have picked these partners out for you,...Wouldn't want anyone getting too excited now."

Everyone became quieter, silently showing their dissaproval of the teacher's decision. The professor started listing names off of his clipboard.

"Anna Young and David Whitam, Beatrice Gunther and Kyle Pearson, Hunter Fox and Ian Somerhalder-"

I stopped paying attention after he called our names. Just my fucking luck. I had be paired with him the day I looked like shit. I put my hands on my face, ready to endure whatever rejection I was about to face after he saw me. I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder, and when I turned around, I saw none other than Ian. I tried to fake a small smile as he sat down next to me.

"Hello." He said casually.

"Hey."

"You look pretty today Hunter."

I was suprised to hear him sound genuine.

"Uh...Thanks...I didn't know you were in this class," I awkwardly replied.

"Yeah, I guess you just haven't noticed me until now. Let's get started with this project, shall we?"

We made plans on what the project would consist of, and how it would look. We had extra time after we had finished, and somehow we started joking around and apparently, not to my awareness, obnoxiously laughing. As the class was dismissed, both Ian and I were called back to Professor Hudkin's desk. I avoided his eyes and stared down at the tile floor as he began to speak.

"I'm guessing you two know why I called you back after class." He said sternly, as he tapped his fingers on the desk.

We both softly nodded understandingly.

"Good. I hope you two will realize the punishment that will come if this hapens again. Correct?"

"Yes sir," Ian said sarcastically. I nudged him in the side with my elbow. God, this was not the time for him to be acting up.

The professor gave Ian a wary look, paused, and then spoke up.

"Is that so, Mr.Somerhalder?.. I suppose you won't mind staying after with your little friend then..?"

I glared at Ian, Feeling the anger intensify inside of me. He just had to be rude.

"I'll see you both tomorrow at 10:00 AM to fufill your punishment."

As we were dismissed, I hurridly grabbed my bag and stormed towards the exit, hoping Ian would not try to catch up to me. I was unlucky.

"Woah, why are you running so fast, quicky?" He playfully said and he fast-walked next to me.

"To get farther away from you."

"Why?"

I stopped and turned to him, putting my hands on my hips.

"Because you got us detention! You picked the worse time to be sarcastic and you got us both in trouble." I shot back at him, as I started walking quickly again.

"Listen...I'm sorry...I shoudn't have done that."

He paused.

"I'll make it up to you," He reassured.

I scoffed.

"Sure you will. I'll be waiting on that, Somerhalder."

I stormed off to my dorm room and slammed my door. What a pain in the ass tomorrow is going to be.
