Chapter 38

Henry Russels 

'Works for me.' He takes big steps, as I do the same to get to him.

I end up in his arms and I welcome the hug. It feels good to be here. Where I belong. Home. Though, my wolf disagrees. Tomas! Right, Tomas is home. Home is where my heart belongs and that is with Tomas. 'I need to talk to you and Javier if he's the alpha.'

'You will not get past me!'

A deep and horrifying growl sounds.

Shocking most of us. I turn around because of it. To see Tomas but this time I see something else. His eyes glow up to a color like yellow-gold. I can't be more proud because it means he's getting more and more to be the alpha. But this is not the time.

'Hé, I'm right here.' I turn his head that he has to look at me and pull his head down to my neck. Which I know, that it will calm him down no matter what is going on. 'Calm down.' The following thing I feel is a lovely but short kiss.

'He's your mate.' My father smiles in his voice. 'But how?'

I shrug. 'The old fashion way.' I let go of Tomas.

'What is going on here?' Javier shows up. 'Who the hell was that?' His eyes glow up to a yellow color.

Hm, then why is Tomas' eye more like gold but not his? 'That was Tomas and he's very protective over me. I need to talk to you in your office but Alex won't let me come to you.'

Javier didn't change by much. Still jet black hair, steel blue eyes that can look straight into your soul. 'Perhaps he has his reasons. However, you still left us.'

'I can explain but only in your office.' I can't let everyone hear about this. I turn to my father. 'You should've told me about it. You passed it down to me.'

'What?!' My father looks shocked but then he recovers. 'Right, Javier, we do need to talk and in your office.' He can still think quick and like a detective.

Javier nods and leads the way. 'This way.'

Within ten minutes, I find myself in the office of Javier with Keaton, my father, Javier and I. Tomas yet again to stand by the door.

'I can't believe that your back.' Gilliam hugs me for the second time. Like he need proof that this is real and not a dream.

'I have bad news.' I start. Pushing my heart and emotions to the side. 'The hunters know about the Gifted and somehow they've put up a list. A Deadpool.' I get my phone out of my pocket. 'It has my name on it, Keaton and your name.' I unlock the screen and get to the pictures. 'My informant on the hunters gave me this.' I hand it to Javier first.

'Oh, oh.' Javier sighs.'He's not going to like this. Hold on.' He walks away. 'Alex! Lydia!My office now!' He makes his alpha voice roar over the pack land.

Both Alex and Lydia are here in a minute. Javier shows them the list. Which he copied first.

'Why is he even here? He doesn't deserve it!'

'Alex, that's enough.' Javier responds. 'Listen to what he has to say...'

My phone goes off. Talking about bad timing.

Though Javier hands me my phone so I can see who's calling. I answer it quickly. 'Talk if you can.' 

'I will.' Charlie's voice comes over the phone. 'Wade has a weapon but he keeps it a secret for anyone. Only his righthand knows about this. I can't even try to find out without blowing my cover.'

'Than don't.' I shake my head. Trying to think clearly. Alex is not making this easy for me. 'Your information is too important and I don't want more blood on my hands, right now.' I close my eyes for a second. 'Where are you? Where is Wade going to? Does he has this weapon with him?' Now I know that all of them are looking at me.
