This is a tricky, rather complicated development, I’ll address this at the end in the other category. For now I’ll say he’s the embodiment of halloween, and all things spooky/scary.

Personality:

“I’m not mean, being everyone’s worst nightmare is simply my job. Besides, no harm in a little bit of a scare, right? Life isn’t fun without it.”
    Indeed he isn’t mean, per say, but it is in fact his job to scare the pants off everyone on his special day of the year. During the remainder of the year he isn’t quite as powerful, but does of course still have some of his immense powers. He just can’t quite use much of them, due to the fact that he stays relatively undercover for the other periods unlike his ghostly subjects that live in Hallows Ville. He does rule over that area, yet prefers staying up top where it is more interesting and where he can have more fun in jinxing meer mortals left and right while making them think it’s just bad luck. Where else did anyone think those bad luck myths like opening umbrellas inside, walking under ladders, black cats crossing your path, etc came from?
    As for him directly, his isn’t as wicked as some would expect--surprisingly--he simply enjoys having good fun. Some of his not so good ghouls, though, they can be worse than him at times when let out of hand. Luckily, they are all too scared to stand up to him. Because as docile as he is these days with a calmer nature, everyone who knows their king knows that the calm nature can go away in less than a second only to be replaced with uncontrollable rage. It takes a lot to get him furious, but once he reaches that point you certainly don’t want to be on his hit list.
    Ellyss spends quite a lot of time to himself, he prefers to stay out of the limelight when back at home in his own holliday land. This is because a king doesn’t just go without fame in his own kingdom, especially in a kingdom focused around scaring when he is the best of the best at it. He does have small amounts of people skills, but mostly in the charm department as a perk to use as a persuasive element in aid to his job. So his people skills, or ‘charm’ is almost snake like in a way.

He’s always been a fan of the evolution of science, and of course has incorporated it into some past scare tactics. In fact, he was the one who gave his good old friend Dr. Frankenstein the idea of bringing back the dead through intensive scientific study. Of course, he let him do the actual science, but he found the man, made him go mad, came to be friends with him, and suggested the idea to him. He also has some place in his heart for botany and herbology. Despite the majority of Hallows Ville being totally barren, he has set aside one corner of the realm in which plants thrive. Notably pumpkins, various ivy species, some darker colored flowers here and there, and some tomatoes. It’s like a wild growth garden, he lets it grow as it pleases in a tangled, viney, chaotic mess. Lastly among this list will be music and candy. He is the master of halloween, after all. He can’t be all trick and no treat. So, he definitely has quite the huge sweet tooth on him. Well… Sweet fang, that is. And music, well a nice suspenseful tune is always music to his ears, unlike it is to many others.
