Chapter – 10

            Pakhi quickly completed her makeup and slipped her feet into the black stilettos Ira had given her on her 20th birthday. This was the first time she had got it out from the back of her wardrobe. She was very late, the party will begin sharp at 9pm and it was already 8:55, so she hurriedly ran downstairs and went straight towards the guest house. All the girls were already there and Tina stood in the middle in her royal blue floor length side slit gown. In one word she was looking stunning. She gave a hard look at Pakhi as she came to stand beside her. Finally with the announcement of the anchor Sriparna, who was Tina’s friend, the party began.

Pakhi was called on stage first to say something about Tina, as she was her best friend. Pakhi wasn’t ready for the grand maid-of-honour-type speech but as she started saying, the words came out on its own. She poured her heart out in that speech. All those sweet memories she shared with her, all those childhood days, all those school days, everything made them walk in the memory lane once again. Tears of happiness came down from Pakhi’s eyes as she gave her wishes to Tina, even Tina cried and hugged her tightly. To ease the tension Tina’s cousin Sukirti suggested Sriparna to move on to the games round. One after another, hilarious games, all kinds of naughty suggestions from the girls to Tina for her wedding night, silly speeches by Tina’s cousins, made the evening more amazing. The time flew out in dancing, singing, gaming, gossiping, photo shoot and etc.

Aryan was waiting outside the back door for the guys to strike. It was already twelve and the party was at its peak. His plan was simple, just enter with the guys very slowly so that Tina won’t find out, search for Pakhi, grab her and take her away from the party.  And if Tina finds out he will be long gone and by the morning she would forget. Eshaan had finally stopped calling but still he was sending messages. He finally gave him the answer he was waiting for. He had looked from the window, but didn’t see any male strippers. So there was nothing for Eshaan to worry about. He heard Souvik’s whistle and opened the back door that was locked from outside. Aryan entered, the disco lights helped him to sneak behind the big screen on the extreme end of the hall. He noticed, Rik and Durjoy very slowly going upstairs to take their positions just above the centre, where the girls were dancing in madness.  Souvik sneaked under the screen and changed the CD from the DVD player and went to stand beside him. The other boys had taken position around the hall and were having fun in seeing the girls. Some of the girls were even standing in short clothes that barely covered themselves. Souvik had actually planned to crash there party in a very simple way, just out of the grudge that Tina had banned them from the party. Aryan’s eyes only searched for Pakhi but in all those dark lights he was having difficulty to find her.

Souvik was giggling as the anchor came to stand in front of the screen facing the girls. Aryan was really confused and hoped nothing bad happened before he found Pakhi. The anchor announced to stop the music and called upon Sukirti on stage.  Sukirti took the mike and said, “Now Tina get ready to remember all your beautiful days we spent together.” As the crowd broke in applause Aryan finally saw Pakhi standing beside the back door of the hall. Not wasting a moment carefully avoiding their glances, he walked towards her. Aryan was dressed in black leather jacket and black tight jeans that helped him to camouflage himself in the dark light. He stood beside her and Pakhi was about to shout seeing him. He quickly shut her mouth with his hand and gestured at her to keep quite. He was about to drag Pakhi out from the hall when the screen captured his attention. HOLY SHIT! That brat Souvik had replaced the CD with Tina’s recorded mischief. Aryan had made that video to blackmail Tina when they were kids. The video had Tina’s pranks that could have made her get a nice scolding from her mother. He had made her clean his room or do any other odd jobs for him by blackmailing her to show that video to maa. How did Souvik get that? That brat must have planned this from long as the video was hidden in Skyhawk Mansion’s storeroom. Aryan was so dead. Without another word he dragged Pakhi out of the house and ran towards the backyard with her. Let Souvik execute his plan. Aryan was out of this.
