Shin Hoseok had been wandering around his middle school's cafeteria, the black tray in his hands filled with a slice of pizza, a water bottle, and a cookie on the side. He woke up late and didn't have enough time to pack his lunch so he had to pay the lunch ladies for this unhealthy-but-decent meal.
Considering how it was only the second month of school, Hoseok barely had any friends. He had a few people which he called his "acquaintances" considering how they talked occasionally, but never an actual, true friend.
Hoseok spotted an empty table and decided to sit there and eat his lunch in peace.
Unfortunately, he didn't spot the younger boy who had decided to sit at the same table, across from Hoseok, flipping through a mint green notebook with the words "Fuck me in the ass" written on the front cover in gold calligraphy, finding a blank page and writing with a black ink pen.
"Oh my God, you can't believe what happened during science class today, Samantha; Carson threw a textbook at this one guy in my class, I think his name was Shawn or whatever but that doesn't matter, and so we're all getting detention for apparently being, and I quote, 'loud and obnoxious pieces of shit'."
"Who-" Hoseok said trying to interfere with the boy with the cute fringe, but said cute boy hadn't heard him.
"And then this bitch named Erikka started arguing that we weren't being loud when any logical person would just shut up about it, so now Carson said that we had to stay for an hour and a half, and you know how impatient I am with doing nothing,"
"Do you mean Mr. Carson..?" Again, Hoseok was ignored.
"So I'm probably gonna try to escape his anger even though he'll probably chase me around the neighborhood, but do I care? No, I don't,"
"Wait-"
"So now, I need somebody to help me scheme and you've been an okay friend I guess, and-" the boy finally lifted his head from the notebook, his small smile turning into a confused frown. "Who the fuck are you?"
"I should be the one asking you that, shouldn't I?" Hoseok replied. He couldn't help but be slightly pissed off at Cute Boy's attitude toward him. It was annoying and he talked way too fast for anybody to understand.
"Uh, this is where me and my friends usually sit...?"
"I don't see any friends. Also, it's 'my friends and I'." Hoseok commented. Cute Boy rolled his eyes and sighed in frustration. "Whatever, grammar nazi," Cute Boy replied. He brought a hand up to his black bangs and pushed them to the side, and Hoseok could finally see his face clearly; his eyes were big and almond shaped, irises dark brown as were the majority of humanity; his nose was small and kinda cute, if noses were allowed to be identified as "cute"; his top lip was a bit thinner than his bottom lip, which was full and plump, but not that much of a difference could be seen. Overall, he looked like a normal ten or eleven-year-old kid, other than the notebook and the sassy attitude that one wouldn't really find on pre-teens. Well, at least an attitude you wouldn't find on the eleven-year-old Hoseok, the rest were fucked over and high on memes.
And yet this weird attitude only wanted to make him become Cute Boy's friend.
"So... I didn't catch your name..." Hoseok mumbled nervously.
"I didn't throw it," Cute Boy responded harshly, surprising the eleven-year-old boy, causing Hoseok to stop chewing on his pizza and raise his arms above his head, surrendering to the ten-year-old queen.
Cute Boy just stared at Hoseok in surprise and confusion. The kid may have been older than him, but God, did he act younger. Cute Boy sighed and pulled his lips into a tight smile.
"My name is Hyungwon. What 'bout you?"
Hoseok smiled. "I'm Hoseok," He responded, staring directly at Hyungwon. The action was awkward, Hyungwon would admit that, but he couldn't help but think of how cute Hoseok was; similarly long dark brown fringe, except the bangs were a bit shorter than Hyungwon's own; his dark brown eye color was slightly darker than some of the others, but it didn't go noticed unless you really looked at him; his skin was a nice fair tone; his smile was kind but daunting at the same time.
This would surely be fun.
