For Jane Evans trying to live by through a day was tough, but then again, she's been doing that for twenty three years now. Ever since her parents practically disowned her the day she graduated, life sort of came as a reality check for someone like her.

At times, when she'd lie on her bed at night, she would go back to when she lived off of her parent's money in her extravagant house, without a thing to worry about. Her life almost seemed perfect, even so, Jane has always been independent, she would want things to be done on her own.

She would give up her princess-like life over and over again just to live the life of a commoner.

That doesn't mean that she has never wondered what her life would've been if she stayed with her parents. If she did stay, she would've been married by now, probably to a rich and young heir to a company.

This was for the better, she'd say to herself. A day without bills, rent, and a fat ass boss would be great, though.

But through all that, she still had that one person to go back to, at the end of a very shitty and tiring day at work she'd get to see the only person who held her when she needed to escape, the one who kept her heart warm and tingly, and that one guy was no other than, her boyfriend, Dawson Cole. She was absolutely sure that she'd end up with him no matter what. Only thing is, Dawson doesn't seem to get hints that Jane wants to tie the ropes between them.

"Don't forget about our date, alright?" Jane was trying to hastily pour coffee into her cup while talking on the phone with Dawson.

"I won't forget. You worry too much. Chinese takeout at your house, got it" she knew he'd forget.

All Jane could do was sigh and look forward to their date night.

"Damn it!" well there goes her breakfast.

"What was that?"

"Oh, it's nothing. It's just that, I burned the toast, nothing new with that" she would just have to get breakfast at the office today, like most of the past mornings.

"Hey, I have to go now, the meeting's about to start" she knew that Dawson was a very busy man, so she tried to understand that it was for his and some what her future as well.

"Millie's at eight okay? See you tonight. Oh! Wear something nice!" she hoped to God that he heard her. Jane certainly didn't want to end up being alone on Christmas Eve and besides she had everything planned out, what could possibly go wrong? It wasn't only Christmas they were going to celebrate, it was her whole life ahead.
