It was a warm sunny midmorning, two friends were at the local Beacon Hills swimming pool at the Beacon Hills High Swimming Pool. Though these two friends have known each other for many, many years. These two friends - were Lydia Martin and Allison Argent.

Allison Argent was a girl of many wonders, she was second best in all her classes (except for her Athletics class) she was the co-captain of the Beacon Hills swim team- next to Serena Michaels, the Beacon Hills 'stuck-up rich girl'. Lydia Martin was Allison best friend, considering they had known each other since they were toddlers. Though unlike Alli she really didn't like the water, many said it was because of an incident that happened when she was a child, others said it was because she was never taught how to swim, no one really knew the real story except those close to her.

Which was why Lydia always helped Alli when she was training by keeping track of her swim time with a stopwatch; Allison was training for the regional swim competition that was coming up in 4 weeks time, she always wanted to try and beat Serena Michaels, who had always had a grudge against Allison since second grade, when Allison got the lead in a school play along with Scott McCall, Serena's 'crush' at the time.

"Alli, I have to go soon, I promised my dad I would go see him before he leaves this afternoon," said Lydia, sitting at the edge of the pool with her legs pulled up to her chest. "Ok, do you think I can get one more lap in before you leave?" asked Allison; who was swimming/leaning on the edge of the pool in front of Lydia, knowing Lydia was always happy to go see her dad before he went out to his job that was at sea(considering he was a fisherman) "I think so if you start right after your small breather" stated Lydia, looking at the clock that was above the door leading out towards the parking lot and trails that lead down to the docks where Lydia's father was getting ready to leave. "Okay, I'm ready just waiting on you," said Allison putting on her swimming goggles, getting ready to dive back in when Lydia was ready to start. ".... and GO!" Lydia said starting the stopwatch, watching her best-friend that was more like a sister than her own, dive back underwater to complete her laps. Allison swiftly swam, giving all her might without losing any speed, propelling through the water, touching the wall and swimming back to the other side where Lydia was waiting. When Alli reached her friend, who was smiling ear-to-ear, she pulled off her goggles, watching Lydia squat down slowly as to not accidentally fall into the pool. Lydia showed her the stopwatch, smiling even more when she saw how happy Allison was.
"Awesome!" exclaimed the black haired teen, "That's .3 under my personal best" the dark-haired beauty continued, smiling just as big as her Strawberry Blonde friend in front of her. "You were really motoring yourself out there Alli," Lyds told her friend, standing back up, getting ready to walk over to Allison's bag of clothes, her towel for when she was down, and purse, lying the stopwatch inside the purse beside the satellite phone that was inside the purse for ultimate emergencies. " I'll be better than that tomorrow, Lyds." said Allison knowingly; putting her goggles back on, getting ready to dive again, with more determination the last time, "Give me about two weeks, and I'll be ready for Regionals." Allison waved goodbye to her friend who was by the door, opening it to leave, and dived back under to try and beat her personal best on her own.

"So cool," muttered the Strawberry blonde; walking through the doors, out to the parking lot and to the trails that lead to the docks.

After saying hello to her dad and wishing him a good rest of the day, and good luck on catching some fish, and to let her know if he saw any exciting fish, considering she was a fish collector (she had a gigantic fish aquarium mounted to her wall in her bedroom, courtesy of her mother, who was a fashion designer). She was walking back towards the gates of the docks, ready to go home and take care of her fish-babies when she heard her name being called "Lydia!Lydia!" yelled Stiles Stilinski -the Jerk of Beacon Hill High, and the 'boyfriend' of Serena (though everyone knew Serena was only using him because of the money he won in diving competitions, and the money his dad made), wondering if this was some kind of joke, Lydia looked up at Stiles bewildered; considering he was such a jerk to her, along with his best friend Nate, 4 weeks before when she was pushed to the ground by Nate and saved by Hope Williams, the schools new badass and new girl.
"Lydia come on I just need some help," said Stilinski, breaking her out of her thoughts, Lydia hesitated, pointing to herself mouthing 'Me?' , just to make sure that he was talking about her and not Lydia Smith, a senior at BHHS. "Yes, you, that Lydia. I'm having trouble getting my zodiac to work," said Stiles, when he saw Lydia walking towards him and the zodiac, motioning to the water vehicle that was non-working in front of him. "What do you need help with exactly?" asked Lydia wearily, crossing her arms over her chest and popping her hip to the left a bit, looking down at the slightly older teen squatting down in front of her and the tied up zodiac. "It won't go and I can't really go back and forth between the dock and the zodiac, you know how clumsy I am, I just need someone to pass me the tools, and Nate and Scott are a bit busy right now..." said Stiles trailing off at the end, and motioning to the open toolbox with tools spilling out of it, that was laying in the middle of the zodiac. "Alright, don't try to guilt trip me," said Lydia, throwing her hands to her sides, while climbing in the water vehicle with the help of Stilinski. Lydia squatted down, digging through the tools to see if she could find the ones that Stiles would need, unbeknownst to her Stiles was untying the rope that held the zodiac to the docs behind Lydia's back. "It took me a while to realize someone stole my spark plug," said Stiles after .2 seconds of silence between the two, besides Lydia rummaging through the tools to try and find the right one, the sounds of the tools clanking together was what Stiles used as a cover to finish untying the boat from the docks "So... does it work without one?"asked Lydia standing up slowly with a wrench in her hand, turning to Stiles. Who, while she was bent down- getting ready to stand up, untied the zodiac fully and pushed it away from the docking. Stiles laughed smugly, noticing that his friend Nate was walking up laughing as well at the misfortune of Lydia Martin.
