Paola sits exactly in the middle of the auditorium. The minutes counted down to the end of lecture that day. She had lots of assignments that are due soon, but her mind had different interests.
On her paper a bunch of questions she had to ask. She couldn't stand still and her feet danced under the table.
Suddenly everyone stands up and Paola looks around confused, as the other students start to leave the room. She looks at the clock on the wall and it hits to her, that the lecture has come to an end, and she doesn't remember a word the professor said. She just starts packing as well and takes her bag, running through the students to get to Mrs. Siedel before she leaves the room.

"Mrs. Siedel." She calls the woman with the short hair cut, who was giving lecture of Basic NEWs reporting and writing. The woman looks at her  with rather a smile. She could look mean from afar, but she was easy going compared to her own assistants. "My name is Paola. I sent you an Essay. I wanted to know what you thought of it?"

"About Supernatural creatures?" She asks.

"Yes."

"It had a very catchy title." The woman nods. "But the text didn't quite give me a grip of what was happening."

"It's actually a work in progress. I aspire to be an investigative journalist and I'm still investigating."

"Then you can send me an email l, when you are done." The woman says and turns around taking her briefcase with her.
Paola sighs a bit disappointed.
She leaves the building, when she sees on the other side among the crowd of students who moved hectic in campus, a familiar face. It was just as if her prayers were answered. She wasn't really eager to see him, at least not in that way.
She starts walking towards him and as she approaches, she notices that he's leaning on a black sports car, he opens the door right away.

"Mulatto." He calls observing her.

"Go on, keep giving me reasons to not get into this car."

He crosses his arms behind, very patient. "I have eternity, now you..." He pulls a face, fixing his shirt. Paola cursed the sun for not burning him for a while, but then remembered he's her subject. -be nice- she told herself.
Paola looks at him up and down, before getting in. Alastor smiled, before going to the drivers side.

"What do you want from me now?" She demands to the vampire who gives her a second of his attention before turning his attention to the road.

"What I always wanted from you." He observes her still confused expression. "For you to be yourself."

She stares at him, expecting an explanation. He doesn't know her, not even a single bit, and hasn't bothered to. All he knows is that heart broken girl he harassed in Empire. She turns her gaze to the road internally shaking her head.

"Can I ask you something?" She questions.

"You just did."

"Are you always an asshole?" She asks deviating from the actual question.

"I'm the nicest person I know." He says sarcastically.

"You don't know a lot of people, I think." She rolls her eyes as he starts laughing harder, making the moment more awkward, for there was not a single joke until now to be cracking like that. His cynicism was something he wouldn't put to rest.
"Are your ties with your family severed?"

"No." He replies singly.

"That's not what I noticed." She awaits for a reaction from Alastor, but he says nothing. "You hate them?"

"Hate?" He exclaims pulling a poor act on. "Trust me, if my family drama wasn't so interesting I wouldn't enjoy the eternity."
Paola stares at him observant, she frowns.
