Alex pov
I had Fairen all dressed up for when her parents arrive. I kissed her little cheeks as she giggled while tossing some toys around.
"You ever thought about it" Gabe asked
"Thought about what baby" I asked
" Having a baby" Gabe said
"I have but not now" I replied "We're both at the peak of our careers and a baby would be a distraction"
"that's understandable " Gabe said stealing Fairen from me
"Hey that's my baby" I gasped
The doorbell rang and I walked toward the door chuckling. As I opened the door, there stood the two parents looking a bit down.
"Hello Vaughn's" I said giggling
"Hey Alex" Pilar and Dana said in unison walking into my lovely home
I closed the door behind them and grabbed Pilar's arm.
"You alright" I whispered in her ear
She nodded her head yes and tried to keep walking. I pulled her into one of the rooms and closed the room door behind us.
"What's wrong" I crossed my arms
"I can't trust Dana" She blurted out
"Why" I asked
"Because the scenario of engagement and moving in together is all to similar" She looked down "I kind of feel like he's going to find someone else to cheat on me with"
"If you felt that way, then you need to tell him " I said
"I did" She paused "he got mad"
"Hell I'd be mad too" I Said walking out of the room
"That's not helping" she said walking out of the room behind me
"You okay" Gabe asked
"Yeah I'm fine" She said walking out of the apartment
"She doesn't trust me" Dana said holding Fairen
"It's a scenario she knows to well" Gabe said
"She said the exact same thing to me" I said "this is your time to step up and be a man, prove her wrong"
"I thought waiting six months of change and a new engagement ring would help but it only helped for the moment" Dana replied
"It's going to take more than just an engagement ring this time" Gabe said
"Okay" Dana said grabbing the baby's bag "later guys "
"Later" I said locking the door behind them "I hope they get it right this time"
"I hope so to " Gabe said kissing my forehead "for Fairen"
Dana pov
I walked out of the apartment and straight towards my car. I opened the back seat and placed the baby in her car seat and placing her bag next to her. I closed the door and stood in front of Pilar who was leaning on the car.
"Baby"I started
"There's nothing wrong with me" she said
"I agreed so that you can trust me " I said " I love you and if I didn't want to be with you, I wouldn't be here today"
I placed my hands on either side of her face and leaned my head against hers. We looked into each other's eyes and I kissed her. When we let go I kissed her forehead and hugged her. I wasn't letting my best friend go. Before I didn't know if I liked her and now I'm more then positive that she is the person I would lay my life on the line for.
"I'm sorry" she sobbed
"It's okay baby" I said "it's not your fault for thinking the way that your thinking "
" But it is" she said letting me go "I forgave you for everything but it's like the memories replay all the time"
"It's okay baby I know" I held her for a little while longer "let's go home"
"Okay" she said wiping her eyes as I opened the car door for her to get in
She got into the car and I got in on my side. I turned the car on and drove home, that was were we needed to be today. This family will work and I will make it work with everything I have in me. This is my family and we are the Vaughns.
