"Sh¡t!" I exclaimed as my keys dropped from my hand onto the car floor. I felt around below me for the cool metal. Once I finally picked them up, I pushed them into the ignition and started the car. The gauges lit up and my radio started playing. I turned the volume down and shifted it into drive as I pulled out. I continued down the empty road when I came to a detour sign.
I inwardly groaned as I put on my left turn signal. The soft ticking filled my car as I turned. This was a back road that didn't have a single car or streetlight in sight. I drove slowly on the long stretch of road. I turned on the radio to fill the silence but no matter what station I turned to, it was pure static.
I groaned and just switched it off. When I looked back up, there was a dense fog that blanketed around my car. My eyes were taken off the girl as I heard the crash. I could feel the metal compress around me and I heard the crunch of glass as it shattered around me. The screeching of the tires attempting to stop filled my ears.
I closed my eyes and felt the spinning of the car; it was upsetting to my stomach. The only thing I felt was sickness and fear. Absolute fear.
After what seemed like a few hours, the car stopped. I opened my eyes and realized that I was upside down. I placed one hand on the ground, ignoring the glass that punctured it. I used my other hand to unbuckle the seat belt. Then I eased my body onto my stomach.
I army-crawled out from under the wreckage. I could feel tears streaming down my cheeks and mix with the blood.
There was no fog. There were was no girl. But as the ambulance was checking my pulse, I could see my eyes shut. I felt a tear shed at my life that was now gone.
I turned to my side to look at the girl as she gestured for me to follow her. As I walked away, I could hear the paramedics frantic to give me life. I turned my head and saw the car heading toward me. I closed my eyes and the fog appeared.
I wonder if he could see my dress...
