I slowly opened my eyes, I could hear the steady beeps of a heart monitor. I looked down, my left leg was elevated in a cast and I had some bandages on my right arm. My head began to pound, I reached up and clutched my head, what happened? All I could remember was driving home from my doctors appointment and then I....I died. At least that's what I thought. I blinked, what happened to that guy? I scoffed, demon eh, it had to been nothing but a dream. Then I noticed it, the pentagram on my left arm. Then it wasn't a dream! I really had made a contract with a demon!
The door slowly opened and I watched a nurse walk through the door. "Oh, Miss. Phantomhive, thank goodness you are awake!" She walked over to my bed and checked the IV lines. "How are you feeling?" she asked. "Other than my head hurting, just a little sore." I responded. "Um. how long have I been in here?" I asked. "Oh, dear, you've been in here for three days. You got a very big knot on your head, which is probably why it's hurting now." the nurse said, rubbing my arm.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. The nurse walked to the door. "I'm sorry, she isn't allowed any visitors." the nurse said. "Oh, I'm just here to take Miss. Phantomhive home." the voice said. "Home?" the nurse asked, sounding confused. The door opened wide and in walked a guy dressed in black. "I'm sorry miss, " the nurse said, coming in behind him. "It's quite alright, ma'am, I'm her butler." he said. "Miss. Phantomhive, do you know this..." "Sebastian?!" I asked. He nodded, walking to the side of the bed. "My my, I'm so sorry I haven't come sooner." He turned and looked at the nurse, "But, I'm here to take you home now." "I'm sorry sir, she isn't allowed to check out yet, she had a concussion, so we must keep her here for more observation."
"Concussion, oh no." Sebastian said, gently rubbing my head, "Miss. Phantomhive suffers from Chronic Migraines, which is why she blacked out at the wheel. The more stressful and nervous she feels, the worse she feels. Now if I may, I'd like to take her home to get her comfortable as possible." He looked at her with a tearful expression he seemed to sparkle. The nurse blushed madly, "Uh yes, right away! I'll go get her discharge papers for you to sign." she then scurried out of the room.
Sebastian then turned and looked down at me, "I am sorry my lady, I haven't come sooner for you." He was still rubbing my head, his touch seemed to melt away all the pain.I closed my eyes, started to find myself very sleepy. "It...it's fine.", trying my best not to fall asleep.
"Excuse me, Mr?" the nurse asked, as she walked back into the room. "Michaelis, Sebastian Michaels." he responded. "Mr. Michaelis, I need you to sign these forms then Miss. Phantomhive will be free to go." Sebastian then stopped rubbing my head and walked over to sign the papers. I closed my eyes as I heard the nurse say,"Alright, she's free to go. Do you want me to get her a wheelchair?" she asked, as she started unhooking the IV line. "No, that's quite alright, I am more than happy to carry her down to the car." I opened my eyes to see him smiling down at me. I blushed lightly as he helped me sit up and pulled me up into his arms. "Alright, Miss. Phantomhive, take care." the nurse smiled. I nodded.
Sebastian then carried me down the hall towards the elevators. Gently kneeling down, he hit the button and walked inside and hit the mail lobby button. Within five minutes, we were at the main entrance parking lot. Walking up to my car. "Wait, how did you get my car? How come it isn't banged up because of the wreck?" I asked as he reached down for the door and opened it, pushing it further open with his knee. "I hired a repair man to do the repairs for you." he smiled, sitting me down in the passenger's seat. Adjusting my leg, he buckled my seatbelt and closed the door and quickly got into the drivers seat. He inserted the key in the ignition and began to drive off. "There must be some new rules set for you when you are able to drive again, my lady." I felt my heart skip a beat. "R..rules?" I asked. "Yes," he smiled, looking over at me once he reached a stop sign. "No answering your cell phone when at the wheel."
As he began to drive again, "Oh shit!" I exclaimed. "You okay?" he asked, concern in his voice. "The important papers for Funtom." I haven't had the chance to sign them again." "Not to worry. I handled everything for you." I looked over at him, "What?" "I took care of it, after all, what kind of butler would I be if I couldn't help my mistress take care of her business when she's out of work for health reasons." I sighed a sigh of relief as we pulled up at the Phantomhive Estate. Parking near the door, Sebastian got out and quickly rushed over to unlock and open the front door. Opening the car door, he unbuckled my seatbelt and picked me up back into his arms. Closing the door with his knee, he walked me inside. Closing the door behind him, "Are you hungry? It's a little past seven, but I can prepare something for you." "No, I'm fine, just something to drink would be great though." He smiled, "Very well." Then he began to walk up the stairs.
Coming to my room, he walked inside and gently laid me on the bed. Getting some pillows out of the closet, he propped my leg up and wrapped a blanket around me. "All set?" he asked. I nodded. "Very well, I will go prepare something for you to drink." he then bowed and walked out of the room. I sighed and looked around. My room had been straightened up, laundry was put away, it wasn't stacked up on my dresser and my paperwork was sorted neatly on my desk. Having a butler was going to be something to get used too, and having a demon here was another thing. And, that one day, he will have my soul.
"Alright, here we are, my lady." Sebastian exclaimed as he walked back into the room, carrying a tray with a teapot and cup. "I hope some nice herbal tea is fine." he asked, as he sat down the tray on my nightstand and began to pour a cup. "Sounds great." I said as he handed me the cup. I began to take a sip and take in it's wonderful aroma. I looked up at Sebastian, "Can I ask you something?" I said, sitting down the cup. "Anything." he smiled, sitting down on the edge of my bed. "What made you decide to help me and want to make a contract with me?" He smiled, "Let's just say the Phantomhive's has always been in dire need of my help." I blinked.
"You see, your great great great great grandfather Ciel Phantomhive, lost his parents just like you lost yours. but at a younger age. Wanting revenge, he came seeking me, and I too made a contract with him. I too, becoming his butler.I helped him help the Queen solving mysteries that ordinary humans couldn't solve, such as the Scotland Yard. There was cases involving Shinigami, and fallen angels and other demons as well. He earned the name 'The Queen's Guard Dog' and you having Phantomhive Blood, you too have to accept your destiny in taking on that task in helping the Queen. By doing so, we can find the people responsible for killing your parents and fulfill your wish in getting your revenge."
I looked at him, Shinigami, Fallen Angels? I closed my eyes as my head started to hurt again. "Are you alright?" he asked, rubbing my head again. I closed my eyes at his touch, "I just need to sleep is all." "Very well," he said, I felt him stand from the bed. "Sebastian?" I asked, opening my eyes. "Yes?" "I am ready, to begin finding the ones responsible, and helping the queen." He knelt down, inches from my face. pulling up the covers, "Very well, but first, we must get you rested up and that leg healed." He rubbed my head once more. "Good....night..Sebastian." I managed to say. "Good night my lady." he said. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
