C H A P T E R 13 (Leah's POV)

One month later...

"OMG Kayla you look smokin'!" Ronnie screamed as Kayla walked out of her bathroom. She was wearing a dark violet dress that fell to the floor. Her hair was pinned up with pearl pins and she wore light blush. Definitely a change from the usual goth girl I'm used to.

"I feel like a Barbie doll," Kayla muttered as she looked down at her gown. She didn't look too happy about dressing up.

"Nonsense, look at yourself!" Ronnie said while she pulled Kayla to of her full-body mirror. I could see the shocked expression on Kayla's face as she looked at herself from head to toe. I could also see the smug expression Ronnie wore as she admired her work of art.

"You really do look amazing Kayls," I smiled. She returned my smile and turned around to give us both a hug. Of course Ronnie had to make a fuss and say that there must be no 'hugging' just in case she might smudge her make-up. We both had a good laugh about it too.

"Wow I can't believe you're 18 already Kayls. I mean you're about to become a full werewolf!" I said as I sat down on her Kayla's unmade bed.

"Yeah I can't believe it myself," she turned back to her mirror and went back to staring at herself.

Just then there was a light knock on the door and a voice on the other side. "Everybody decent?"

"Go away Kevin! I don't need you here right now!" Kayla growled. Her hands formed fists.

"Leave it alone Kayls. He's your friend too," Ronnie mumbled as she walked to open her door. "Come in Kev."

I couldn't help but smile at Kevin and his goofy grin. He looked like a 7 year-old on Christmas morning. "Thanks. Glad to see someone who's happy to see me!" He winked and gave her a quick hug.

"She's just being nice Fishboy," Kayla retorted and I gave her a pointed look.

"Wow Kayla, you look stunning. Happy birthday." Kevin stared at Kayla for a while and she gave a sheepish smile. I swear I could see her blush a little, but it was quickly covered up by her usual hard exterior.

He turned away, obviously annoyed with her reaction. He then looked at me and smiled his goofy smile again.

I didn't understand why he looked at me like that. All I was wearing was a yellow sun-dress that came to my knees with yellow pumps and a denim jacket. My hair was its usual natural curls and there was a yellow ribbon alice-band across my head. Nothing special.

"Hey Leah, you don't look too bad yourself" he smiled sheepishly and I found myself blushing just as much as Kayla.

"Hey! What about me?" Ronnie interrupted and did a little twirl in her strawberry pink sun-dress that was the same style as mine. Except for her stylish leather boots and make-up overdose, we were dressed the same.

"Oh how could I forget about you?" Kevin said as he stood next to her, pretending to observe her, "Err.. Ya I guess you look okay," he shrugged and I giggled.
