*(Y/n)'s POV*
I sat down, letting out a pained whimper. Today's mission was a total failure... Not only did Quan Chi beat our asses, but he also managed to get away. I've been trying to track him for 12 years, and today I could've taken him down.
It doesn't matter, I'll find him again soon. I must... I must get my revenge! To keep it simple, Quan Chi murdered my whole family 13 years ago, when I was 15 years old.
It's all a faint memory, but I still remember the blood spreading across the walls, the fire rising up into the black night sky, lighting everything up. I was lucky to get out alive, I was.
I threw off my pretty much destroyed armour, getting my sweater off as well. My whole back got several cuts today, same with my left shoulder.
A faint knock on the door got my attention. I fastly grabbed my sweater to cover up most of my body as the door opened. Maya opened, poking her head in.
-"(Y/n), Master Liang demands that I take a look at your wounds. He told me you got hurt pretty badly by Quan Chi today," Maya said as she hurried over to me, leaving the door open. I was going to mention it, but left it to be. She'll leave soon enough..
-"Maya, I am grateful that you worry and care, but there is nothing to worry about. The wounds are so small that they'll eventually heal through the week. I just need to sleep and rest up my mind. Tell Master Liang not to worry. I'll see you to breakfast tomorrow?" I asked more as a question. Never have I ever let anyone see my back. It holds every secret to my past...
-"But Lady (y/n), Master said that I had to. I don't want to worry him, and neither should you," Maya replied as she took some steps towards me. I simply let out a sigh, moving my (h/c) hair away from my face. I shook my head, standing up.
-"And I demand that you leave me alone. I told you I am fine," I muttered, pointing towards the door. Maya sighed as she headed to the door. "You've been here from the start, helped me since Kuai found and took me in. Take this one time break, let me heal myself up. Tell him I'm fine."
Maya nodded before leaving, closing the door behind her. As she let go of the knob, I flinched by the pain. I grabbed the side of the bed, leaning over it. Soon enough blood traced down to my stomach, falling so to the floor. The wounds had opened up again.
I walked over to the bathroom, keeping my pained expression. I wandered over to the mirror, meeting my own (e/c) eyes. I then quickly noticed it. My whole torso and arms were dried with my own blood.
There's no wonder Maya wouldn't give up at first. I grabbed the first aid kit, starting to clean the cuts. I was unable to clean every spot of them, because of their location on my body, but I managed to bandage them all up.
*Sub Zero's POV*
-"What did she say?" I asked once Maya came back. (Y/n) must have denied help again. There must be something with her back. Everytime she get's hurt around that area, she denies any offer for help.
-"She denied me. She looked very bad, Master Liang. I am very sure that her wounds are very deep. Her whole torso was soaked in blood, same with her arms. Her face was more pale than that I've ever seen it. I must ask you to take a close look at (y/n) tomorrow, or now. Her beautiful (e/c) eyes were so faint..."
I crossed my arms. I have no choice but to take this situation in my own hands.
-"But please don't go hard on her. (Y/n) is very shy when it comes to men, after... earlier experiences. Just don't do anything to make it worse," Maya explained as I walked past her. "And Master Liang? Thank you."I didn't reply as I walked over to (y/n)'s room. Luckily it's not located in the far end of the temple. I must admit I am curious to find out why no one is allowed to see her back.
Can it be scars? Most likely. I've had (y/n) here in my temple for 9 years, and she has never really spoke to me about her past. When she did, I had pushed her to.
I stopped in front of her door, clearing my throat. Hopefully I can get her to open up this time, without so much force.
I must admit, I find (y/n) pretty interesting. I knocked carefully on the door, but I got no reply. If she's going to play that game, I'll just have to get tagging along.
I opened the door and stepped inside, closing it quietly again. The room was completely dark. She's already asleep? I walked carefully across the floor, towards her bed. I grabbed the end of the sheets, dragging it off the bed. To my surprise, the bed was empty.
I suddenly felt a presence behind me, and I immediately ducked. The hand was inches away from the top of my head, touching my hair. I swung around, using my leg to trip whoever it was. The next second the woman landed on the ground with her back. (Y/n) let out a groan, rolling on her side.
-"(y/n), why did you attack me?" I asked calmly as I got down on my knees behind her.
-"Sub Zero? I-I... I thought you was someone.. else," (y/n) replied. I stared at her back, feeling a little guilt inside. Her white sweater turned red pretty quick.-"I heard that you said your wounds weren't that deep. Get that off, I'll heal you up," I offered, putting my hands under hers. I lifted her slowly up, putting her down on the bed.
-"I.. I don't need anyones help. I simply need rest," (y/n) replied as she put her hands on my chest, pushing me away. For one second I wanted her to keep her warm hands there... She looked away, most likely ashamed of herself.
-"I need to be completely honest here. If you won't open up, I cannot trust you. I just want to help you, and I will never hurt you. I did what I had to do now. I'll get some first aid stuff, and when I come back you will talk. If not, I demand that you leave my temple.. tonight," I said with a stern voice, trying to push her to open up.
Please, (y/n), I need to know more about you and your past...
-"Fine," she muttered and looked away from me. I simply smiled, jogging off.*(Y/n)'s POV*
I must tell it all to Kuai? It doesn't matter. Either I keep quiet and leave, or I talk and I'll be forced to leave. What's the point? I let out a sigh, taking off my sweater. I stared at the back of it. Blood...
It didn't take long before Kuai returned. He had a big medkit with him. He'll probably be using his time on this..
-"So, I thought that you can just lie down and I'll do my magic with the wounds.. while you talk about these... sc-scars..." Kuai stared at my back almost speachless. Where my back was not bandaged up, huge scars lived their own life.
-"Sure," I muttered, laying down on my stomach. Once I felt his hands on my back removing the bandages, my cheeks heated up. Not only was the touch of my own master something special for me, but his hands were indeed very cold...
-"I was born in this village.. if we go southwest from the Shirai Ryu Temple, you'll find it in.. about a three days walk. I was born and raised there. My father.. he was such an abusive asshole. H-Half of my scars were.. c-caused by him... And my - Ow!" I snapped, gripping the bed sheet. I also shut my eyes, hoping that the pain would go by.
-"Sorry for opening your biggest wound. This cut needs to be stitched up. It will hurt, but I'll just cool the area down before I start, to numb your skin a little. Now, where were we.. and your?"
I shivered once he placed his hands around the cut, starting to cool my skin down. It was pretty unpleasant, but I kept talking.
-"W-Well... my mother and I had it difficult, until only I had it difficult. Only days before Quan Chi attacked our city... father killed my mom. I.. I was going to get help, but he kept me at home, taking his anger out on me. Then Quan Chi came and murdered my father in front of me. I was and still am grateful for his death, but I could've been killed myself. I almost was killed, but I managed to heal myself and get out of there. One year later you found me not so far away from the Lin Kuei, and saved me."
