(A/N: I AM NOT COMING FOR ANYONES WIGS¡! ATTENTION; NO WIGS ARE BEING SNATCHED, everyone has gorgeous names)

No.being friends with me doesn't give you the "nigga" pass. No. You may not touch my hair. No.you cannot sit here and try and sympathize with my racial issues while you are of another race or color. Yes. You should use cultural appropriation. No. You shouldn't tell me my name isn't a "real" name, my momma gave my name a meaning? Is that meaning not real?, my "Ghetto" name is a part of me that I will not change. My charcoal dreads are a piece i will.NEVER. Flat iron. So questions like"how long are you going to keep those?" "Do you smoke weed?" And "When are you getting those taken out?" Or statements like "you should straighten your hair" "you would look better with flat hair" "you'll never get a job with dreads" "nobody wants a black girl with that hair" won't phase me. And also don't say "you're too young to know what you're talking about", you sound stupid. If I didn't know what I was talking about why would I bother with this poem? No.i don't speak "ghetto" No.i was not raised in the "Hood" or on the "streets" Yes. I am mad at people who try and say they know what it's like for us brown and black people in this world. You don't do stop saying that. And No.im not just making this to get attention I'm trying to prove a point. MY skin is from the first ancestors that struggled through life and died due to many tough trials but may I please say that if it was not for them I wouldn't be here today writing this or thinking these things. Hey white people, what was your struggle? Oh you didn't have one? Shocking. Is it because you enslaved every person that wasn't your preferred skin tone? Maybe brown was a little to much like the soil you spilled our beautiful black ancestors blood on? Is this too much to handle for you? Don't. Stereotype me ever in your life. My name is Keniya. k-e-n-i-y-a.not Kaniyah. kemena. Kay'ina. Just because some of us have unique names doesn't mean you get to label it as ghetto because your name is "Brianna" "Courtney" "Elizabeth" "abby" or something commonly known. Our names go as deep as the roots of our black brethren on this American soil that OUR blood was spilled on. Natives. Africans. Asians. All of us minors are pushed aside and anytime one of us wants to speak up. We're instantly pulling the "Race card" don't give me a card because you use your privilege too much,No.being friends with me doesn't give you the "nigga" pass. No. You may not touch my hair. No.you cannot sit here and try and sympathize with my racial issues while you are of another race or color. Yes. You should use cultural appropriation. No. You shouldn't tell me my name isn't a "real" name, my momma gave my name a meaning. My aunt,my grandma,my great grandma, and everyone before her. Gave my Beautiful name a meaning.
