||Maddie's P.O.V||
I stared at myself in the windows reflection as I slipped on my new jacket. I stood at the front door as it seemed a wave of happiness swept through the house. Mackenzie's smile lit up the room. She danced through the kitchen, passed the lounge and pet Malibu on head effortlessly as if it was just daily routine. She slipped her jacket over her head and kissed me on the cheek,
"Morning Mads," she spoke softly,
"Morning Kenz," I replied with a silly face. She poked her tongue out at me and hopped through the front door, crawling into the car,
"Mommmmmm! We're readyyyyy!!" I yelled upstairs. Mommy Mel threw Malibu some bacon and turned on the t.v for her. Jeez why is this dog so spoilt?!
We arrived at Pittsburg Six Flags. Kenzie had been wanting to go here for ages because a new ride had opened, called The Carousel. Pretty boring name but trust me, this ride goes full out. It throws you up into the air. It turns you upside down and twists around. You're only sitting in a plastic seat connected by thin metal chains. This ride is literally a death trap, but that's the fun of it..... right?
Kenzie and I promised we would go on it last, we just to build up the courage to actually ride it! We had the best day ever until we were so ready to ride The Carousel, until we started to line up. Hundreds of people came in and out of the gates to it, hundreds of people had the time of their lives, hundreds of people made it out alive..... but would we?
These thoughts ran through my mind for hours as we waited for our turn. Mackenzie and I hardly spoke the whole time, but when we got to the gates our only instinct struck, we did our ALDC handshake,

We walked through those gates with courage and sat down in the double seater, her on the inside, me on the outside. A teenage boy had his head stuck in his phone as he came around to 'check' we were all strapped in, but didn't really take notice. I felt him do something to the back of our seat but in that moment didn't think anything of it. He strolled over to his control room for the ride, gave us all an evil smile and whispered, "have fun," as he jolted the control stick to start it. I noticed he kept pushing on the stick until we were going at full speed. All the riders were screaming and laughing with joy, I couldn't focus on anything around me, everything seemed blurry but the people on the sidelines. They were all staring right at me, they were all giving evil smiles like the one the boy gave us. The creepy carousel music seemed to speed up with the ride. My body felt numb. I glanced at Kenzie and she glanced at me. Her whole face was frozen, frozen in fear. I looked up as a huge, piercing bang sounded from above.
