Hogwarts had always been my second home, even with all the unpredictable people and events that were around every corner. And I was ok with that. It was just something I learned to accept.

I walked out of the Gryffindor common room, on my way to class. I shuffled my feet against the delicate floors, as I knew I had a mere few minutes before I would be late. I felt the fast pace of my body catch a slight breeze under my robe. I remember looking down at the floors and at the detailed works of the old castle. It really was astonishing to me, and has been for a long time, how fascinating Hogwarts was. Every day you would find something new. And that was truly magical.

I remember my fast paced navigating was stopped abruptly when I hit something. I fell back a little before looking up and seeing those suave caramel locks and misty grey eyes stare down at me. A smirk appeared on the boys face and I rolled my eyes, realizing my defeat before either of us had even spoken.

"What do you want, Riddle?"

"Hello to you too," he replied, picking up one of the books that had been tucked in my arm. He handed it to me,  his eyebrows raising and his smirk growing in pure victory.

"Thank you," I reluctantly said. Taking my Potions book and placing on top of the others I currently cradled next to my body.

A silence quickly fell on our brief conversation. I took this opportunity to try and walk around Tom but his hand quickly stopped me from walking any further. I made eye contact with him, trying to look more pissed off than desperate.

"I have to go to Potions-"

"No, you don't. I'm afraid, today, you have to come with me." He answered sternly.

"I don't have to do anything you tell me to do, Riddle." I attempted to walk to the other side but his hands grabbed my shoulders and turned my body towards his.

"I want you to come with me," he said again, slightly mocking me.

"But the lecture-" I protested.

He took his index finger and gently put it over my mouth, stopping any words that were about to escape my mouth. He smirked again, making my insides turn upside-down. He may be a pain in the ass but Merlin, he was handsome.

"Don't you remember I'm in the same class? And don't you think I would have already gotten notes ahead of time for the both of us if I wanted you to come with me?"

He let his finger go and I stood there looking at him. Ugh, he was right. He had already thought this through- the feeling of defeat I had experienced earlier came back. I sighed reluctantly, letting the sound echo through the empty hallways before turning around and walking with Tom.

Our footsteps tapped in unison as we turned down multiple corridors in the school. I let him lead, as I was only a few steps behind him. I was watching his locks bounce up and down with each step, and the fabric of his sweater making noise as he moved. We soon came across the library and I saw Tom turn quietly into the room.

We both walked in and claimed a table near a section of the library I was not familiar with. I saw Tom grab a quill and some paper as he sat down next to me, the chair making excessive noise in the quiet environment.

He looked up at me, his eyes knowingly seeing right through me, before he leaned in to whisper gently.

"Are you a pure blood?"

"W-what?" I asked, very confused.

"Are you a pure blood?" Tom asked again, not changing the inflection of how he had asked the question the first time.
