El squealed in excitement as Mike grabbed her and pulled her outside, and they raced across her yard, trying to be quiet but giggling uncontrollably.
El's bare feet raced through the soft grass, as she held Mike's hand tightly.
She smiled as they raced down a hill and stopped at a park.
She smiled as Mike pulled her up onto the playground, the dark sky making a perfect lighting, no one could see them.
He grabbed her and set her down at the top of the slide, pulling himself behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist.
She rested her head on his shoulder with a sigh. "Our midnight adventures never get old," she laughed.
He smiled. "I love them," he murmured back. "Almost as much as I love you."
She smiled at him, turning around to face him, and she leaned forward to kiss him, but squealed as she slid down the slide on accident instead.
He laughed, sliding down after her, and meeting her at the bottom.
She walked across the grass, and he followed behind as she lay down flat in the grass.
He lay next to her, squeezing her hand tightly.
El stared up at the stars thoughtfully.
"Do you ever wonder where stars come from?" She murmured.
Mike chuckled lightly. "Well actually-,"
El shushed him. "No! I mean, who came up with that theory? It's crazy! An explosion made us?"
Mike stared at her star stuck face. "What do you mean?" He queried.
She sighed, turning her face towards his. "It's just, so many things in this world have yet to be explained. And.. I want to figure them out. With you."
He smiled. "I know one thing in this world that I want to explain."
She tilted her head. "And what is that?"
He chuckled. "How I love you so much."
She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I'm sorry.. that can never be explained.." she giggled, before pressing her lips against his.
fun fact- every time I try to write the word 'chuckled' it always autocorrects to chucked and I barely ever edit so if you're confused I'm sorry because now I'm reading them all as chucked and I'm laughing so hard and I apologize
