Scorpius POV

I took my mother's advice and asked Molly on another date. We had been on two, I believe, but never really discussed it further. With O.W.L.s and then McLaggen, everything was brushed under the rug. She had said yes, though, and I was very excited. I was even going to go pick her up from her house. Mother had told me all about how muggle men do it, show up to the door with flowers; I thought it had been a great idea. It was somewhat complicated, though, being a wizard, I couldn't apparate, so I went through the floo network. Almost the same, I was still going to bring flowers.

"Take her lily's mate!" James brought me out of her thoughts. I had been trying to decide what flowers to take her all morning.

"No, I don't think that is the right flower, James. How is it you knew that Lyra likes snowglobes, and I cannot pick a bloody flower?"

"Well, Lyra talked about it once, when she was really tired. In the common room. It was quite funny, actually. Mumbling on about all of the ones she has in her room." James was smiling, thinking of the memory.

I thought back to all of the conversations that Molly and I had had over the years. Had she ever mentioned flowers? Then it hit me.

FLASHBACK

I remembered it like it was yesterday; it was second year.

"Scorpius, look what is over here!" Molly called from a few meters away.

I walked over to her, "What is it, Mols?"

"Daisies! My favorite, how have I not seen any before today?"

"I am not sure Mols, they look nice, though." I offered her a smile.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Daisies!" I practically screamed at James. He looked at me, horrified.

"What?"

"She likes daisies." I smiled at the memory, just as James had done. "I will go ask Lyra if she has any in the gardens."

I walked to Lyra's room; she was lying on her bed, reading a book. "Lyra?"

She looked up, motioned for me to come in, and sat up. "Yes, Scorpius?"

"Do you happen to have any daisies I can take to Molly for our date, they are her favorite, and I would have gone and purchased some, only I have just remembered which she liked best."

"I do; they are in the garden; I will go find some for you and make an arraignment. Is that alright. When do they need to be ready?" She asked me.

"I am leaving at 5:30."

"An hour, plenty of time. I'll bring them to your room. Don't worry, brother, she will love them."

"Thank you so much." As I was walking back to my room, Cassi and Orion sped through the hall.

"Scorpius!" They called in unison.

"Yes?"

"Good luck on your date," Orion said. A smirk plastered across his face.

"Don't forget not to mess it up. I like her very much." Cassi added with emphasis.

"I'll try not to Cass." I laughed and went into my bedroom.

"Well, I better get going, mom expects me home for dinner, and since I don't recall when it is, I should leave," James said to me when I sat down on my bed.

"Alright mate, should I come over tomorrow then, let you know how it goes?"

"Absolutely!" He said, slapped me on the back, and went into the fireplace to floo back to his house. Soon after, Lyra came in and handed me a giant bouquet of flowers.

"This is lovely Lyra, thank you."

"You are welcome. Now I would do as Cassi and Orion say. Otherwise, I feel as though you might end up with something happening to you later." She smirked at me and left. I finished getting ready for my date, said goodbye to mom and dad, and flooed to Molly's house.

"Hello, Mr. Weasley." I greeted Percy with a smile and shook his hand.

"Lovely flowers you have brought my daughter. Those are her favorite, you know. Her mother used to grow them." he said to me, a sad smile came to his face.

"She told me once, I thought she might like to put them by her bed; they are right out of the gardens. Lyra helped me pick them today."

"How kind of you. Scorpius. I must ask you to treat my daughter with care. She can take care of herself, but she is all I have." He looked at me seriously.

"Of course, sir." I nodded at him. Molly walked down the stairs and smiled at me.

"These are for you." I stuck out the flowers and smiled at her.

"Wow, Scorp. These are beautiful. Thank you very much." She smelled them and then went into another room and came back with them in a vase.

"Shall we go?" I held out my arm. She took it, and we went into the fireplace. I was about to release the floo powder when she let go of my arm and ran out. I was afraid she had changed her mind.

"I love you, daddy." She kissed her father on the cheek and then ran back into the fireplace and grabbed my arm.

"Ready?" I asked her.

"Yes." She nodded her head, and I dropped the floo powder.

"Diagon Alley." I pronounced every word clearly.

We arrived moments later. We both brushed off the dirt, and I held onto her hand. It was smaller than mine, softer too. It fit perfectly in mine.

"So, where are we off too?" She asked happily.

"Grandmother took me to this restaurant last summer for my birthday. It is wonderful, and I thought you might like it." I replied, just as excited.

"Great, what kind of food does it have?"

"Indian. I hope that is okay?" I stopped suddenly, wondering if that had been the right choice. "We could go somewhere else if you would rather?"

"No, I have always wanted to try Indian food. I do get tired of eating the same things every day. Mixing it up a bit is good for the soul." she smiled at me, and we continued walking. I had never seen this side of Molly Weasley. She was so serious at school, and I loved that. She took everything seriously, but at the moment, it was as though she just wanted to enjoy life.

After we were seated and our food came, I started thinking about something her father had said earlier. "She is all I have left," he said.

"Mols, can I ask you something, difficult?" She looked up and nodded at me. "What happened to your mother?"

Her face fell, tears came to her eyes. I immediately regretted bringing it up here, in public. "She died." Her voice was strained.

"Molly, I am so sorry. Why didn't you say anything?" I moved my chair closer to hers and held her hand, forgetting my food altogether.

"Father got a letter from the ministry in America, where she was on assignment. It arrived two days after we came home for summer holiday. She got into a car accident. They only knew she was a witch because she had a wand in her possession. She hadn't been to work in weeks, dad isn't sure why he wasn't notified of that immediately, but he is trying to work that out. When they searched where she had been living, they found nothing. No signs that she had a family back here. It was like she had erased us from her life and was starting over. How could she leave me, Scorp? With nothing?" Tears were falling down her face now, and people were starting to look over. I pulled her into a hug.

"I am not sure, Mols. I am here, though, and I won't leave."

"Do you promise?"

"I do." I looked her straight in the eye. I meant it. We went back to eating. Afterward, we walked through the streets and stopped and got ice cream.

"Would you like anything else?" I asked her before we got in the fireplace so we could floo back to her house.

"No, everything was wonderful, Scorpius. Thank you." We flooed back to her house.

"Would you stay for a cup of tea, Scorpius?" I nodded and followed her into the kitchen.

"I hope you enjoyed your night Molly."

"I did, Scorp. It was a lot of fun."

"You seemed different." It had just slipped out, and I hoped it hadn't sounded bad because I didn't mean it to.

"I decided that I should have more fun. Life is short, apparently."

"Well, I would like to do this again sometime, perhaps if you would like that?" I was fiddling with the ring on my hand.

"I would like that, Scorpius." She smiled at me, and we finished our tea. She walked me to the fireplace, and before I got in, she leaned in and kissed me. It was wonderful, her lips were warm and soft, and I pulled her closer to me, pressing lightly back into her. When we both pulled away, she smiled at me.

"I will see you soon, Scorp; tell everyone I said hi, and let me know about that second date." She smiled at me once more before I flooed back to my house, a smile plastered across my face.
