The moon lights up the sky giving me plenty of light to see the open plain we're in. I watch as Dylan's silhouette emerges from the tree line.
"Go to sleep, I've got watch for the rest of the night."
I haven't slept in almost 12 hours nor have I ate so I don't bother arguing. Reaching his hand out he places some raspberries and an apple in my palms. My eyes widen, "you actually found some?!" I whisper shout.
"Yea, cut some cuts too just for those so you better appreciate them," he smiles.
Silently I stuff my mouth full of the raspberries and make my way over to Morgan and Tyler, however I stop abruptly.
Turning around I head towards Elliot. He's curled up in a ball. I gently lay a hand on his shoulder and he jumps awake.
Hyperventilating he jerks around trying to find the cause of his wake.
"Hey, calm down it's just me."
I whisper placing a hand on his chest as if I was forcing his lungs to take slower breaths. Sighing he relaxes.
"Wh-what do you want?" He mumbles.
"I figured you were starving so I brought you an apple, freshly picked."
Quickly and hungrily he yanks the apple, chomping into it.
"Thank you," he spits out in between bites.
I nod, "sure thing. Now get some rest ok?"
I look into his sky eyes, wondering how in the world they were brighter than the stars in the sky.
He nods and munches on his apple as he goes back to sleep. Quietly, I once again make my way to Morgan and Tyler. I settle beside Tyler, who is curled into Morgan. Almost as soon as I set my head on the ground I drift off to the beautiful land of unconsciousness.
That night I have an eventful slumber, full of gunshots, my parents, Tyler running around, Dylan's tear streaked cheeks, Morgan being snatched away by a giant dark figure, and Elliot's blood soaking my hands.
